E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

With a shiver from the cold that his old gnomish body might not have felt, Gorefoot looks back to Percy. "Not too long now. They make camp in these woods, so we just need to find them. It's been a little while, so it might take me some time. At least we'll be out of the worst of the rain. Let's get something to eat and then we'll start looking." Gorefoot finds the driest spot he can to break for lunch, and afterwards he begins looking around for signs of the nomad camp. He tells anyone interested in helping him what to look for.

Lunch is short, but the rest in the dryest spot Gorefoot can find is welcome. The rain lightens a little in the afternoon as the group gathers itself for a trek deeper into the forest. Gorefoot spots a deer trail that prooves a good starting point as he heads off in search of the nomads. Following behind the group is dragged into the forest. The deer trail peeters out at a small stream after a couple of hours following it's meandering trail through the forest. No signs of the nomads have presented themselves yet. With the continuing rain and lack of signs Gorefoot does manage to spot a nice dry spot on the opposite bank of the stream. A heavy old tree with many gnarled branches together with a low rise shields a soft bed of moss and small flowers presenting the group with a nicer place to rest out of the rain.

"OK. Well, perhaps we'll stop here for the night. It seems peaceful enough. Don't worry, Fondar. I'm sure we'll find those nomads soon enough. If not, we'll just keep going to Gemhold." Percy lets Fridly go in search of little critters, and sits down herself, happy to get off her horse.

"Too wet, I won,t be able to notes thinsg tonight. Oh well, i'll sleep a bit more tonight, that's all. I miss a bit my monastery. There were few night of rain that high in the mountain and never so wet. It was better to sleep. I must tell such humidity is bad for books if you want to keep them for years, even centuries, so it wouldn't be the best place to put the library here, except if you have a buidling that is build to keep humidity outside, so all must be sealed and there must be some way to evacuate the humidity. We use candle, but there must be a watchman to be sure there is no fire that could burn the library, and the candle are kept in a stony part, to reduce the risk of fire. It is a complex system thought by some goblin when they first build teh monastery. You should take a look at it, it is pretty impressive." tells Ridik, as he jump down of his pony and start to install his thing for sleep.

Moving across the stream the group finds the old gnarled tree and sheltered area very welcoming. Large stones are abundant in the area and even seem to make a semi circle around the base of the tree. A small group of flowers grows amonst the moss in the crook of one of the tree's large branches, offering a pleasant smell over the smell of wet horses.

Nars grumbles as he climbs off his mule, hobbles the beast while avoiding a snap of its teeth, and then settles his sore body onto the driest spot he can find. "I can, er, take a middle watch, since I, ah, the dark, er, don't bother me much."

"We can use the same watch as before. Say, Ridik, can you have a look at my arm before you drop off. I was bitten by that ugly thing last night, and it hasn't healed." says Percy.

Ridik looks at teh stone. "Funny that semi-circular shape, what are the chance to such formation to happen naturally?" he tells aloud to himself before Percy asks him for healing. Ridik walsk to Percy and look at the wound. "That seems more scar than anything else, but ti seems pretty well healed. The scars will disspear in a few day."

[SBLOCk=OOC]Erekose told we had our night of sleep completed after the combat, so you haev naturally healed 7 hp and Nars 6, in other words, enough to be full, so I should need to heal you.

Erekose, am I right?[/SBLOCK]

Settling down in a relatively dry area (its still quite damp don't get me wrong), the group finds the shelter quite comfortable. By nightfall, the rain has become just a light drizzle, though the sky is still overcast and it has been dark for a few hours. The horses hobbled and made comfortable you begin your shifts quite peacefully.

Late at night, the moon starts peaking though a few small breaks in the clouds during the middle of Nars' watch. A soft song that starts as a whisper on the wind prooves quite distracting as the dwarf waits and watches. As the soft lullaby continues, Nars finds it difficult to stay awake.

His eyes heavy, the dwarf falls asleep at his post.

Rodimus, ever punctual and generally aware wakes a short time after his watch was to begin. Nars did not wake him and is currently asleep. Checking the dwarf who was supposed to wake him, Rodimus discovers that several small flowers have sprouted around Nars, including one that has started to grow out of his hair.

ooc: yes, Velmont is correct, you got a full nights sleep worth of hps back after the fight. Even if you didn't we could just have easily said Ridik heals everyone and then recovers his spells in the morning.

ooc: Dalamar hasn't logged into the boards for over a week, so in the interests of keeping up the pace.

Dalamar shakes Nars, waking the slumbering dwarf up. As he wakes, Dalamar says, "You feel asleep on your watch, Nars."
