easy supers game

First Post
So I passed on my rather large collection of comic books to my new son(we are fostering to adopt and he and his sister moved in Dec 22nd) for Christmas and he is really into them. I told him we could play a superhero's roleplaying. Imo M&M is the best but I want to ease him into it.

So what is the most simplistic supers system out there. Although I think I may just grab some hero clix and ad lib for a bit let him play with characters he is reading about.

Suggestions?

DC Adventures is really solid, system-wise, and has a number of big names already statted up. And I find it to be fun, flexible, and creative (though I'm far from a child these days).

Icons is fairly light, though I've got zero play experience with it.

BASH is pretty easy entry, though it's not my taste or style. Still, a good system with a lot of "say yes" built into it.

Best of luck to the both of you. And why aren't you trying to include your new daughter?

I would recommend ICONS as well - it's very rules light and easy to pick up, and my nephews (ages 11 and 8) love it.

The FATE part of the ICONs rules are not really easy...

Using Determination, Qualities and Challenges right can become difficult.

Has he already any RPG experience? If yes (and especially in d20 games), M&M /DCA may be actually easier to grasp for him, at least after character creation (where you can help him most).

My youngest nephew didn't grasp the FATE-like concepts at first when we explained them, but picked up on it in play watching others. Now he tags and compels with the best of 'em. B-)
