Eberron: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

How much do we know about transportation technologies in the upcoming Eberron? I know of trains and airships, both powered by (I believe) captured elementals (hmmm...is this slavery?), but do we know of any others?

Nothing yet... though before another poster comes in to talk about "magi-tech," I do want to point out that it's been said by Keith Baker these are unique constructs, and not common.

Not to mention, been argued to death repeatedly :)

A very good question, really.

Another: is the way we treat a horse (when it's a labor animal) comparable to the way we treat a dog?

It reminds me of the old sci-fi tale about the people kept in a giant doll house...

Do dogs have their own language? Having a language implies suffucient intellect to be sentient.

Now if these were some other form of elemental, such as animals from the elemental planes, like Air Dogs, or Fire Horses, then I feel it falls under the rules of other animals.

I don't know about trains and planes, but I remember reading a Baker post that there won't be any automobiles.

Well, another transportation technology seen in Across Eberron is sailboats. They look like regular ships (not unlike the pirate ships in Return of the King), but sometimes they have air elemental-laced sales.

There are no automobiles, and teleportation magic (like all high-level magic) is rare.

By the way, I don't think the Lightning Rail is powered by elementals. And I'm pretty sure it's unique. There aren't a bunch of trains going everywhere.
