Ebert and Roper

Did anyone see this weekend's episode of Ebert and Roper? I want to know if they gave The Fog "The Wagging Finger of Shame"., and I missed it. I wish Channel 9 would show it on Sundays, like they used to.

I can't believe The Fog debuted at #1. Movies that weren't screened for critics should not debut at #1. One Sony executive was bragging that it had a lot of cool elements -- so why didn't you screen the movie?! The Dukes of Hazard was screened for critics!

I think they are showing it here in another 4 and half hours, if I'm up and a I remember I'll post something about it.

Judging by the previews the effects on the Fog are better, and its not like the acting in the first version was oscar material.

About the review for The Fog and not letting critics see it.

One of the local movie review guys, he is pretty decent and what I would consider an avergae joe type of tastes. Well he said Elizabethown sucked, so did Domino, they didn't let us review The Fog but judging by the commercials that will be your best bet this weekend.

I thought it was funny.

fog was kinda bad. It had some good bits and the concept was solid, but not long for the theaters.

I liked the rot away effect, but it was not used nearly enough.

Blah ending.

the Fog is only a horror classic if your friend told you about the movie. Not if you actually watched it. My friend made this movie live. Then I saw it. uggh.

The Fog was likt most horror movies. It has one or two neat things in it, but it just doesn't come out that good at the end.

Are we talking the John Carpenter original here or that looks less than awe inspiring remake?

Because, y'know, I don't think any of Carpenter's horror movies are that particularly scary
but the The Fog, like all his pre-Ghosts of Mars movies (even the crappier ones) it's all
kinds of badassian pulp kewlness.
