D&D 5E EB's ToEE and RttToEE Campaign - IC

battle royale.jpg

And soon the room erupts in a flurry of war shouts, cries of pain, and words of magic. Rana's spell finds little purchase inside the moathouse, the vines and moss not able to hold back the bandits. While Aridha's spell causes one of the bandits to hole up in the other room, and singes the bandit captain only a little, the huge man still advances forward. His huge leg muscles snapping the clinging vines, slowing his advance so he draws a dagger and hurls it at Hexiros, catching him in the arm. But not before the dragonborn brings his huge weapon to bear on one of the poor bandits sending him to the ground bleeding. A crossbowman sees this and fires at the dragonborn scared to have that weapon turn on him. Once more Hexiros is hit a bolt in the same arm next to the dagger.

Zanword provides a distraction and Bekah calmly comes up and pierces the stomach of the bandit he is fighting. He doubles over in pain and she backhands him across the throat with a very familiar dagger. She looks over at the Sea Knight and her smirk turns to horror as the pirate leaps at her.

*twing*

The paladin moves in close and uses his shield to stop a crossbow bolt from taking the young woman in the back.

Gwylla can not see the conflict, but after casting a protection spell, she feels a little more confident.

While on the other side of the room... Templeton and Emmyr trade parries and testing blows with the bandits they are engaged with.

OOC: Wow I need to tighten that all up somehow.
Group is up.

"Let's see what 'womenfolk' can do!" Gwylla says, climbing up the steps to get a view of the combat. Calling on her arcane powers, three bolts of force strike the bandit captain.

Drawing upon the nature's power as he strikes the bandit leader, Captain Zanword extends Ranas retreating vines and the bandit is once again covered in vines. These are not benign vines that hold someone immobile, but those reflecting the natures wrath, spiky and dangerous. As the cutlass cuts the captain, the vines flow into the wounds trying to take root and rend the bandit leader from the inside.

[sblock=Actions]
Bonus: ensnaring strike
Move: over the barricade and next to the bandit captain (J or K 13 as possible)
Attack: Ensnaring strike vs Captain; damage (1d20+5=19; 1d6+3=5) - bandit captain is ensnared (Str DC 13 to get free) and takes 1d6 piercing damage at the start of his round until he frees himself (uses an action). Anyone who can touch him can makes the check instead of him, breaking the vines (and using action)

OOC: coyote roller got blocked at work, I'm looking for alternatives. Any suggestions? rolz.org seems to work, but I'm not sure how long lobby rolls will stay visible. I may need to register and keep one of my own rooms active...

With a flick of his wrist a dagger appears in Templeton's off-hand. He uses Emmyr as a distraction and buries the blade hilt deep into a hapless Bandit's ribs. The tip of the dagger enters the man's heart and he slumps to the ground. Using his momentum and twirls and with a strike of his rapier the other bandit's neck opens up with scarlet. "Follow me mate!" he says to Emmyr with a grin and moves to another pair of bandits.

OOC:
Bonus: Off-hand sneak attack w/ Dagger vs A. CRIT for 20 damage
Attack: Rapier Attack vs B hit AC 16 for 9 damage
Move to K11
off-hand dagger vs A, Rapier vs B: 1D20+5 = [20]+5 = 25

Round 3

Emmyr grinned as Templeton put down the two bandits. Now the way was clear!

“Guid job, ratcatcher,” he said. “Him.” He pointed his sword at the bandit captain.

Hopping over the dead bodies, Emmyr stalked toward the bandit leader, twirling his axe. Then he struck out with axe and sword. The axe was parried by the dagger, but that left an opening for Emmyr to the sword along his side, opening up a line of blood.

OOC: Sorry I've been out of it lately. I've just been having a bit of trouble focusing on anything in life as of late. I think I'm ready to post for Hexiros, but I was hoping I could get a little clarification; the map is small and my eyes are old. What is it that is giving the captain cover? Can Hexiros overcome the cover with a little bit of movement?

Thanks for the clarification. And, more importantly, thanks for putting up with my sporadic post-rate.

OOC:
You can zoom the image. Ctrl and + together if you're on desktop, two finger widening if on mobile.
I think the cover comes from the barricade, that's why Zanword crossed over immediately.

OOC: And here I thought the maps were on the big side. Sry about that.
There is an over turned table between Hexiros and the captain.
Best move is I11= 10' over the barricade, 5' to spot.

Aridha frowned, her forehead sweating a little from the concentration on her spell. Best not to let a fire spirit like that run free after all. With a beckoning gesture, she signals it to move. The flaming sphere rushes back towards her, then veers into a luckless bandit standing near its path!

(Move sphere to K11 and conduct attack vs Bandit D. DC 13 Dex or take [roll]2d6[//roll] damage, 1/2 on success)
