Once Cade has had his muse confirm that he's listed in the ForF system, he'll have his shard pistol at the ready and his suits chameleon cloak warmed up. With a nod to the others, he motions toward the beeping sound down the left corridor.

[Cade to group: Secure the left, first and check the noise?]

"High value items are most likely in Sick bay, Med Lab, Science lab, and storage. Quick easy to move stuff may be found in the bunk rooms as stuff the previous inhabitants left behind. Left works for me"

[Jane, keep in touch with these other meatbag's muses. They look jumpy. Don't want them shooting me in th back. Again....]

[Request confirmed. Initiating communications protocol..... Link complete.... Updates to FoF network complete..]

With that complete, Rover will move carefully through the airlock to peer down both corridors.

"So, you meatbags coming?"

Double checking everything is engaged correctly Glitter follows Rover in.

"Max keep scanning for signals"

"I agree lets head for the sounds down the left corridor and keep an eye out for high value items."

The rotation of the habitat ring provides GDS-43 Torus with enough gravity that you can walk fairly easily. Your AR displays indicate the station is currently maintaining approximately .5G. There appears to be something wonky with the station's electrical system, as the lights dim and flicker intermittently. The further you move away from the airlock, the more the haze hanging in the air clears up, and by the time you reach the Rec Room, it is gone completely. The beeping you heard from the airlock is louder here, but seems to be coming from one of the other rooms further in. The layer of dust in this room is about as bad as in the airlock.

Whoever once occupied GDS-43 Torus did not want for recreation. Along the right side of the room are six VR pods, all connected to monitors above them, probably to show what VR program is currently running the pod. Currently, all the monitors show static. A plush sectional sofa is in the near left corner, with a small cocktail table in front of it. Three half-consumed beverages and some half-eaten pastries still sit on the table. The far left corner has some sort of game table, possibly one of those fancy hybrids that has foosball, air hockey, billiards, and other games built-in and convertible with the touch of a button.

The door leading to the next room, the Sick Bay is shut. The door is obviously not sound-proof since you can hear the beeping through it.

Rover moves to the VR pods to make a quick estimate of how difficult they would be to remove [OOC: are these pods such that we can tell that they're obviously empty, or do they need to be opened to confirm?]

Following that he will move to make the same assessment on the gaming table.

Along the way Rover 'sniffs' at the food checking to see if it is freshly discarded, or moldy old.

Rolls (please use whichever are relevant):

Along the way Rover 'sniffs' at the food checking to see if it is freshly discarded, or moldy old.

Rolls (please use whichever are relevant):

The empty VR pods are bolted to the floor. With the proper tools, you could detach them. They're large enough for a full-grown man to sit in comfortably, plus all the extra size needed for electronics and such. You estimate they're probably 1,000 - 1,500 kilograms each. Physically, they appear to be in very good condition and assuming there's not deep-rooted electronic problems with them, they would fetch a nice sum on the secondary market.

By virtue of the complexity of its construction (or lack thereof, compared to the VR Pods), the gaming table isn't worth as much. Still, it's in good shape, and someone looking for an entertainment piece for their home would probably pay decently for it.

Certainly, both items would be worthy salvage if none of the scientific equipment is salvageable. The scientific equipment would almost certainly be worth more, assuming it's still intact.

What food isn't growing interesting new mold cultures is probably very, very stale. You're pretty sure that peach danish isn't supposed to have a green, fuzzy center.

"Interesting," says Cade as he observes the room. "Whatever happened was sudden, since everything was left right in the middle of doing it. But either they got real lazy after it, or they're not here." With a quick circuit of the room, and his shard pistol at the ready, Cade makes his way to stand to the side of the doors leading to the beeping.

If it looks and sounds clear to his improved senses, Cade moves to cautiously open the door and look into the next area.

If there is time and room, the VR pods are probably worth taking, but they're not going to be quick to remove. The table is probably more effort than it's worth.

[Jane: Dig around and see if you can find the schematics for the VR pods, if we have time to remove them I want their wiring / bolting diagrams handy.]

With that assessment made, Rover will stand clear of the door and to the side, but obviously ready to move in.

Maybe we could keep the table for ourselves...

Zeph moves to the opposite side of the door as Cade and uses his many senses in an attempt to discern what might be waiting on the other side.
