"Just to be certain, do fellows like him do anything special aside from their implied physical strength? I don't know much about their kind beyond their physical abilities..."

The half-giant lets Karl retreat back to the cab with a snort.

The cab driver gives you a worried look. "Yes, we can take another route. It'll take a bit longer. But are you sure he won't just follow us?"

"That sounds bad...if we get hit by such an attack while holding the pie, there might not BE a pie to offer after all this."

He slightly perks up soon after, getting an idea :

"However, do you think he would hold back if we were to use the pie as a hostage?"

"we could slit up.You drive the wagon one way, we carry the pie another. As to holding the pie hostage, do yo have an idea?"

Arthur replies with a slightly embarrassed look :

"Em...I was hoping you would get a spark of insight on that hostage idea...Basically, it's been established that he wants a bite of the pie. If he were to be overly aggressive, like that mind stomp you mentioned, it would result in the immediate destruction of the pie."

He takes a breath before continuing (in a quieter voice) :

"As for your idea, do you mean the driver will divert attention while the both of us make a break for it with the pie?"

in a realquiet voice and hiding his mouth by turning away from the giant, he simply says "yes"

Arthur nods and replies :

"My idea isn't entirely fleshed out so let's go with your plan. Should it fail, we'll fall back on mine. If it is fine, I'll carry the pie."

interesting tactic, not much stratagy . . . . .

strategy: get away from the half-giant, while sneaking away with the pie.

Tactic: The Rutherford Ruse . . . . .
'steal' the pie off the wagon, have the wagon take off and rejoin us 2 blocks down the parade route. Hopefully the big guy will be gone and we will continue on our way.

If the big gut still wants bis byte of pie, we go with PLAN 'B' :

The Arthurian Articulation . . . . .
Hold the pie hostage, if The Half Giant tries to make a grab for it, he will cause it to go 'plop' on the ground and no one gets any of the ruined pie!
