Eeevil Horror suggestions wanted! (My players stay out!)

I've running the original I6 Ravenloft module for my gaming group as a Halloween one-shot. I'm looking for some good ideas to make a great module even more memorable.

I'm open to suggestions on:

(1) Converting the module -- any great modifications to monsters/setting in conversion you'd suggest (especially Strahd)? Not that we're not playing a Ravenloft campaign setting game, and that's not the feel I'm looking for -- I'm shooting for an eerie, creepy adventure as a diversion from an otherwise standard (ie, Greyhawk) D&D setting.

(2) Setting the mood. Music, lighting, table setup, etc (I've requested music suggestions in another thread).

(3) Props.

(4) Other??

Sorry, not really that familiar with Ravenloft except as a concept. What kind of music do you have access too, though? And how does your group normally play? Our games all tend to be kinda spooky in terms of theme and plot elements, but we act relatively silly "behind the scenes" which means it's a different kind of fun than watching a scary movie, for instance.

I'd go with music, though. I love spooky movie soundtracks. I have a lot of Danny Elfman, for instance. :)
