Egg of rebirth (what is it?)

I'm a lamer, I admit it. An NPC in the campaign I'm playing in just gave my 14th level character a "blown glass egg of rebirth." It is clear all the way through, except for some tiny imperfections here and there (proof that they were made by the honest, hardworking indigenous people of...wherever). Has anyone ever heard of an item remotely resembling this in one of the books? Either I got gypped by the NPC (it was part of a trade) or it holds some mystical properties (perhaps resurrection I'm hoping). Any thoughts?

Never heard of such an item. Resurrection might be a property, or maybe Reincarnation?

Checked a few sources (even Encyclopedia Magica) and didn't find anything on an egg of rebirth...
