Eldritch doom, making it more doom like {Warlock}

First Post
As written, eldritch doom deals eldritch blast damage to any number of creatures within a 20' radius.

I'm thinking of changing it so it deals it to all creatures within 20'. Maybe objects as well, though I'm not sure. I'd be cool to watch tables and chairs suddenly fly to pieces along with goblin legs/arms.

Do you think such a change would lower its level, from dark to greater? Or should there be something else to keep it at dark?

Thanks,

I think it would be about the same. It's powerful, but making it possible to harm allies wouldn't reduce it's level one tier, especially if it could also damage objects. (Not that the warlock can't already shatter at will...)

By the way, I never noticed it was "any number of creatures", not "all creatures within...". A pretty potent power: Fighters form defensive wall, monsters/enemies who rush up get caught in the blast by the Warlock 5' behind the middle fighter.

Exactly, and 7d6 without an attack roll is rather annoying. If not lethal! It would of course deal have damage to objects as normal. :)

Thanks, I think its sorted out now.

Eldritch Doom is a bit on the weak end for a Dark invocation anyway - making it non-selective would definitely drop it to Greater, IMO.

I mean, consider Eldritch Cone, which can actually give you a bigger radius when used with flight, doesn't require you to be close to your foes, and can be fired past your allies more easily. The only advantage Eldritch Doom has is that you can safely use it in cramped quarters.

I agree that it should be able to damage objects though, although probably not attended ones.

HHm.. You're right, looking at it like that. Smaller than a Cone when the cone is flying, and to deals damage in a burst area. I would actually guess its weaker than cone. Since in order to efectivly use it, one must be rather far away from fighters and what not, and very near enemies.

Ok, I'm definitly leaning toward greater Invocation now.
