[ELH] Manyshot and Haste

It is also a common house rule to make the multi shot penalty -2/per additional arrow, rather than a flat -2. I believe the author even suggested that as a errata for the feat. At a flat -2 I would agree it is far too powerful, at a -2 per additional arrow, I think it's just fine.

For manyshot? No, that won't work, because it's one attack roll for all arrows together

Perhaps I was insufficently clear, if you were using 3 arrows, there would be a penalty of -4 on the attack roll, 4 arrows would be -6 on the attack roll, etc and so on.

What he means is if you use the feat to fire 2 arrows, you do so at -2. If you use it to fire three arrows you do so at -4. If you use the feat to fire 4 arrows you do so at -6. THis was suggested by Andy Collins the writer of the feat.

Ah. That would be okay, granted you can limit the number of arrows you shoot....

As much as I love the feat, I can't say I disagree with Andy's proposal. Four arrows should be harder to aim than two, and the "cool" factor of the feat peaks at three arrows anyway, IMO. Four arrows allowed by the non-epic version of Manyshot isn't lame, but definitely the limit of what's plausible.

I'd be inclined to go with Andy's house rule. Then it becomes almost a more cinematic version of Power Shot, and instead of a 16th level archer always firing either one or four arrows with no in-between, the stacking attack penalties add some strategy to the feat.

I agree with you.

What do you think of using the above rule and allowing it to be used with shot on the run? Normally it can't be, but I think in conjunction with the above rule it would fit with shot on the run.

I don't think Manyshot is that bad, really.

Improved Manyshot, on the other hand, is just sick.

It's epic and since BAB slows way done it's really hard to get more then five shots. And comparing it to other epic feats, it's actually quite tame.
