Elven Fighter/Wizard Core Class

It could be, in your campaign! :)

Elves in my campaign? Over my dead body...
Kidding aside (we got an elven archer (fighter) in one campaign),
if a player wanted to play an elven fighter/wizard that would be the best I would offer. Someone wanting to play a bladesinger would probably get a renamed bard, or, a Basiran Dancer from KoK.

(I am not a big fan of racially restricted prestige classes, especially if they are high-powered or overpowered. Why should there not be human bladesingers? Half-orc "spirit archers"? One can weave flowery fluff about elven grace and skill around any class without problems.)

Yeah, I'm not necessarily either. Unless the prestige class represents membership in an organization of some kind that only admits members due to race. But that's a different thing altogether.

If you're gong to have a specifically elven core class, you darn well ought to have core classes for everyone else, too. And that starts getting silly.
