I hate elves

Spock is kewl

ergo Elves are not like Vulcans
Spock (TOS) is only half-Vulcan.
Sarek, Spock's father, is full-Vulcan. Sadly succumbed to Bendai Syndrome, where he begins to lose resistance to suppress his emotions. Spock never did say goodbye to Sarek.
T'Pring, Spock's former betrothal, is full Vulcan. She arranged the courting ritual in order to rid of her arranged suitor, Spock, in order to marry someone else.

Tuvok (VOY) is full Vulcan. Had amnesia and started to act according to his emotions. At one point, he actually like Neelix (the ship's cook, morale officer, and self-proclaimed Federation ambassador to the Delta Quadrant).

There was a Vulcan colonist turned Maquis in DS9. To her, Logic dictates she has to defend herself and the colony stuck in the Cardassian-occupied DMZ. She aided in stealing a load of photon torpedoes.

Personally, I prefer half-breeds of both types. Now, an Elf/Vulcan hybrid would be interesting.

Gez, I did notice in various posts that you seem to have great ideas. I would love to be a player in your campaign... it's seems to be really cool. It could even make me forget my current anger at basic D&D, which finally looks to me as the Disneyland of Heroic Fantasy.

I'm considering starting a PbP game as I'm kinda frustrated, my friends being very busy right now (and with a little chance, I'll be soon too, as I'm looking for a job). On the other hand, it does leave me with time to think about my homebrew.

Orcs are too weak. Can only challenge the Ferengi.

Bugbears would be worthy rivals of the Klingons. Either that or Flinds.

OK. Next fight: The Enterprise vs. Half-Force Dragon Astral Dreadnought! :p

Elves in my world are just thin humans with pointy ears & lack of facial hair.

Dwarves are short humans with a beard fetish.

Halflings are very short humans.

Well, there is an interesting connection between elves & dwarves, but they don't like to talk about it. Some of them have even convinced themselves it isn't true.

I also always like Dr. Kromm's (of GURPS fame) take on elves.

I noticed such similarities a while ago. Vulcans and D&D elves both have pointed ears, hair that is usually black, long lifespans, and tend to be haughty and aloof. Unlike elves, however, Vulcans are a highly logical race that have given up emotions.

Then there's that whole "Don't get any except for every seven years" thing....

A battleaxe lodged firmly in their skulls. :p

Wouldn't know about elves. The closest I get is a Half-elf ranger who looks more like Colonel Sanders than Elrond....... :D Complete with "Spock Ears".

IMO: D&D elves look like they belong in some anime. They look dorky to me with those big ears and that flat face. I prefer LOTR elves!
