Empathic Transfer + Vigor?

Hello everyone in the D&D Rules forum!

I've a question that needs answering:

Can the temporary HP of the Vigor power provide a buffer against the HP loss of the Empathic Transfer Power?

I would say yes - Temp Hps are always lost first - and thus are created as a Buffer. If it will buffer you from magical/psionic dmg form another - should buffer from magical/psionic dmg from yourself.

thanks. I had some doubts because of the wording of Empathic Transfer. It seems to imply that most defenses against HP loss don't work (DR, Regen, etc.)
