Empower Feat and + Caster level constants

Has there been any official ruling on the Empower feat and its effect on spells with a caster level based constant such as False Life or Wall of Fire? In many cases Empower ends up being better than Maximize on these spells.

The empower will also work on the +'s from levels. Just like with the magic missile (d4+1) they would have the extra bonus.

This does make empower better than maximise sometimes, I have seen a few different 'fixes' for this. I think one of them was to maximise the base spell as normal and add 50% of the static amount as well but I could be wrong.

Whatever you do though, dont make empower weaker. It is already incredibly weak, no need for it to get the nerf stick

Check out CLW as well - I believe there is an example for CLW that shows the +level add most clearly.
