EN Publishing $1 GM's Day Sale

I can't speak for RPGNow (hopefully they'll address it or respond to you!), but isn't that how it's supposed to work? My credit cards have always insisted that the billing address and address given match, wherever I use them onlline.

I think that is true. I've gone ahead and shot an email over to RPGNow.com Customer Service to alert them to this thread, though. Hope that helps.

The most disturbing part is via online banking I can see the charge for $6.00 for the 6 pdfs...

yea tell me about it... for me its 31.00 so I have you beat and if I don't get the download links I'm going to be pissed, or get the charges taken off the card... I've never had this problem before.

I've been sending them messages for a couple days now, and so far I have yet to get a response. I am getting real frustrated at their lack of response, not even so much as a "we are looking into it, we'll get back to you later," type of message.

AVS error means the address you left can't be match with the card... that's something we must do for fraud prevention. So if you moved recently try your old address zip or something along those lines or just call your bank. There is little we can do about it.

As for the charge showing up on your card... that's the way things work... it's only a pre-authorization and it will disappear and a day or two when the bank gets around to processing the failure notice. Again, nothing we can do about this and standard practice.

As for anyone missing download links or not getting replys from our customer service, I'd like to say sorry for that... feel free to contact me directly if you're not getting a response. webmaster@rpgnow.com - but first check your spam/bulk folder for the reply.

Just so you know we have a LOT of issues to deal with and one of our CS guys was out sick. We have had great success with this sale doing nearly 4 times the sales every day... but with that comes 4 times the work for the CS team.

Ok so with this error message our banks got the message and the charges will be dropped from the authorization list because of the AVS message. If that's the case that's cool.

I just hope that since I am getting this now on the 8th at 1am that I didn't miss the sale because that'd be rough to lose out on this nifty and awesome deal that was available and I'd hate to miss out.

Thank you for the response though, I appreciate it.

I don't know about other publishers, but I'll leave ENP's stuff on sale for a few more hours so that people who had problems can still get them.

I'll follow ENP's lead on this. Good plan, Morrus.

Well anyways this is card I use on a daily basis and use to order online from companies like Amazon, so whatever the issue I feel confident in saying its not my card or my address.
Anyways thanks for taking the time to respond, and I hope you guys get it fixed one of these days.

With all due respect, Shadeydm, I'm not getting anything from your response. Do you mean to say:

a) The addresses do not match, but other stores don't worry about that so you feel RPGnow shouldn't; or

b) The addresses do match, and RPGNow is in error somehow.

It'll be hard for RPGnow to look into it without knowing what the situation is.

I just tried to pick up a few pdfs and got the following message.

An error occurred while trying to report this transaction to the merchant. An e-mail has been sent to the merchant informing them of the error. The following is the result of the attempt to charge your credit card.

The transaction resulted in an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder.

This happens to me a lot, because of where I live in the town I live in. USPS does not deliver to my home, I am given a PO box for all USPS mail. However most companies refuse to deliever to a PO Box and the post office in my town refuses to deliver to my home. Therefore I have to have 2 addresses and everytime I order from RPGnow I have to change it to the PO Box (thankfully RPGnow doesn't care about the PO Box - as opposed to my cell phone company) before the order will approve.

I wonder if you're having a similar problem?
