The next selection is The Club Dumas by Arturo Perez-Reverte. A full post attempting to drum up interest in the book will be up shortly.

Discussion starts on the 15th of October.

Earlier I had indicated a proposed reading period of September 15 to October 15. Does that still make sense? Gives everyone two weeks to acquire the book and then a month to read it.

And don't forget, nikolai, your other job is now to nominate the next selector. That person would choose the next selection by November 1, reading period November 15 to December 15.

How do we get this info posted to the news page? Do we submit some sort of scoop?

No (though no-one's stopping anyone from naming a selection). You just need to express an interest, and be willing to start a thread and encourage discussion about the chosen book. I've put your name on the list.

I'd certainly be game to play host. Being a newbie here though, it wouldn't be cricket to skip ahead of the others. But if they change their minds or can't make it, I'll gladly step up.

Mark, you are the next selector. Sorry to those who weren't chosen, but I felt Mark was the fairest choice as he offered to be a selector some time ago, only to miss out, and has a top notch record on the forum.

The Club Dumas discussion starts on the 15th of October. The standard reading time is six weeks, so count on that far from when you name your selection for your book's discussion date.

I'm looking forward to hearing your choice. And please bear in mind MarauderX and The Other Librarian when making your selector selection.
