Tell you what Ashon... I'll e-mail you the ingredients for your contest. You'll have 48 hours to e-mail your entry back to me.

Will that work for you?

I just want to make this comment without revealing anything specific about the ingredients I've been given, but to give an ingredient like an association to a 48 hour contest is really constrictive. I've spent the 6 hours plumbing through all of the Mor's End material.

I understand it for the final round or even the mid-to high Cr NPC's. But if someone didn't have access to the internet for extended periods (as I do on weekdays), it makes it a very difficult task to even figure out what the association is... let alone make up an NPC.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll try to give a brief writeup of the association in future.

Note also that we don't expect it to be consistent with the whole Mor's End universe...

Ashon... you make an interesting point. I guess I had assumed that the contestants had probably read some of the Mor's End info on the various threads. I see now that I might be wrong about that.

The association ingredient is there so that the NPCs will be more closely tied to Mor's End. The association ingredient is fairly generic like: a major NPC, a guild or other power group, a part of town, etc.

I didn't think you would have to spend several hours reading through the threads to find info on the association. If I had, I would have made the time limit longer. For now, the 48 hour deadline stands... but I will discuss it with the other judges to see if this should be changed to 72.

That works for me, Krug...

How about this...

I'll provide a brief description of the Association when I post the ingredients. The entry will be based on the description provided in the post.

If the contestants wants to do extra research on the Mor's End threads that's great, but the description provided in the Ingredients should be enough to get going.

Ashon... just go by the brief description I gave you in the initial e-mail.

Since you essentially went on a 6-hour excursion into the Mor's End threads... you have a 6-hour extension to your deadline.

Sorry for any problems this may have caused... and thanks for bringing it up. :)

The short description wasn't quite enough, but that's okay.

The problem with the associations, is trying to find the entries that deal with them. I definitely think a little more info is important to make the association come alive.

I also didn't need the 6 hour extension, the entry is as they say, "in the mail"

Thanks Ashon. Interesting NPC and hooks. ;)

OK... Everyone else, please ping this thread so we can get on with the rest of round 2.
