EN World City Project: NPC Contest #2... Final Round Ingredients!!!

Round 2 Results: Ashon vs. ajanders

ajanders advances with a score of 23.5... beating Ashon by 3 points.

Here are comments for Ashon...
Key Phrase didn’t seem to hold up throughout the story. The rest of the ingredients however were mixed in fine enough. The Association was handled well, nice touch with the Swamp Pickles. Plot Hooks could have been better. What happened to the Cleric?
Interesting plot hooks, key phrase not bought out that well. Decent use of ingredients.
The key phrase was well incorporated into the opening statement and persisted, if somewhat subtly, throughout the background story. Tying the three remaining ingredients into the story of another relevant individual was a nice touch and done really well. Good, solid plot hooks that all seem interesting enough for the level of the NPC, and the story flowed well and was well-crafted.

Comments for ajanders...
Key Phrase was handled well, and the rest of the ingredients, except the religious holiday, were inserted deftly. The one part I really found lacking here were the plot hooks, which I would find hard to incorporate into an adventure. However, the overall feel of the story was good.
Great integration of ingredients and key phrase. Association isn't too bad
This character’s background story embodies the key phrase incredibly well, in my opinion, however I feel that some slightly liberal/loose interpretations of the other ingredients let it down a little. However the story is still very well put together and I quite liked the plot hooks.

There you have it... I'll have the other one posted in just a few...

Round 2 Results: DungeonKeeperUK vs. orbitalfreak

DungeonKeeperUK comes out victorious with a score of 24... over orbitalfreak's score of 21. Nice Job!

Here are comments for DKUK...
Key Phrase was taken to new heights here. Very well done. The other ingredients weren’t handled as deftly, but they aren’t out of place either. The Association was handled well. Plot Hooks were good. Nice Job.
Great , intriguing story. Ingredients aren't integrated that well. Interesting plot hooks.
Masterful use of the key phrase to create a wicked web of semi-incestuous intrigue combined with excellent manipulation of the remaining ingredients. Several of the plot hooks are superb for city-based, intrigue/murder mystery adventures and the overall story was fantastically written and presented. If I had one complaint it’s that I was expecting a story for a single NPC rather than an entire family.

And comments for orbitalfreak...
I like this evil little Halfling. However, the Key Phrase wasn’t used to its full potential. The rest of the ingredients were OK, though. The Association was used successfully. Plot Hooks could have been better.
Key Phrase and Ingredients don't fit that well. Not that inspiring. Plot Hooks are so-so.
Quite good use of a difficult key phrase and even better use of the remaining ingredients as they were all incorporated into the entire story. The character lent itself to the plot hooks provided but I would maybe like to have seen one or two more, but overall the story was really good and the character feels and sounds quite well assembled.

And there you have it folks... :)

Wow, we all scored really high this round didn't we? It's a shame with the lowest score being mine @ 20.5 we couldn't all advance!

Congratz to Ajanders and DKUK, good luck.
