Level Up (A5E) Encumberance

My group and I have been figuring out some things for the game, but we can't find what the consequences are for encumbrance? The book says it's on page 616 but we just can't find it anywhere. As far as we can tell the only consequence is that you can't sprint.

I don't see it either. There is a bit about speed dropping to 5 if you are trying to push drag or lift too much on 404 & it mentions 616 there on the left but 616 is an appendix A start & image. With it not even being listed in the appendix maybe it imposes a different condition like....

and it should say "If you exceed your carrying capacity, you are encumbered (see Appendix: Conditions on page 616)."?

If that was the case I feel like it would say it at least? Plus Slowed is a condition usually imposed by spells and stuff, I'm not exactly sure why being encumbered would reduce your AC or make you not use reactions e.t.c. Hopefully it's just there and I've missed it somehow.

I've actually been keeping an eye on this thread hoping Morrus would chime in perhaps with a response about it, as I feel this is a bit of a core issue that unfortunately isn't touched upon

Encumbrance is poorly worded in the section on Carrying Things, which is getting a wee edit while Encumbrance itself gets a proper entry in the Conditions appendix.

• An encumbered creature’s Speed is reduced to 5 feet.
