As Atlas follows Martelai outside, he is startled to find Lt. Ryan to be the cause of all the noise outside. His eyebrows narrows and for some reason he seems distressed by the look of the lieutenant " what is he doing here softling " he addresses Bell " and why is the Lt. screaming ?" and he walks to Ryan and kneels beside him, hoping to find some spark of former self " We are no foes, we are here to help. Do you understand lieutenant? "

 

[Neurotic]

Martelai lowers the woman on the ground, huffing slightly from unacustomed exercise.

He turns toward Rayn, trying to use military reflexes hopefuly instilled in Rayn to calm him down. He snaps, using his bardic training to modulate as much commanding voice as he is able. He also hides his weak physique by pulling cloak around and standing straight.

"I'm Martelai, Captain of the Guard! Soldier, stop that weining and get up! Your name and rank?"

Bell quickly puts her dagger and cloak away, not comfortable gagging the man now that everyone else was here. Even if Veruzak says its a good idea.

She opens her mouth to answer Atlas when Martelai starts barking orders. Picking up on his cue, Bell straightens up and circles round behind the Lt., trying to stay out of his vision, till she reaches Atlas.

She speaks in a hushed whisper. "Veruzak is going to use him as a beacon to try and find the evil tentacle monsters. I don't know why he's screaming. He just sort of started."

Suddenly Atlas turns furious and all his facial features turn alien. His markings flash and his eyes glow brightly with anger " HOW DARES HE!" and he disappointingly looks at Bell " This is a man of blood and flesh, not some experiment! " he says, unaware that he revealed something of deeper meaning. " I going to have a word with our WIZARD " and Atlas glowingly marches back towards the cellar " Somebody take care of our newest arrival while I do so ".
