Energy Drinks instead of Potions

Preparing for my 4e campaign in Ptolus, I stumbled across a shop under the descriptive name "Potions & Scrolls." With the new rules, they will probably be out of business soon.

So what should they do with all their shiny alchemical apparatuses? I was thinking about "Energy Drinks". What about a potion of some kind which allows the imbiber to make an Encounter or Daily power available again?

While this breaks the model of encounter and daily powers representing opportunities to perform some cool maneuver, it might actually be an interesting commodity - if the price is right.

Another question besides price is how generic such drinks should be. At least the level of the power would have to be brewed into each serving, perhaps the power source, too. I think coding the potions to specifc classes or even powers would be too much, though.

What do you think about this idea?

Potions and scrolls covers more than healing you know. Also, there is an excerpt at Wizards that covers alchemy which might be interesting to you.

I wonder if there is a point in restoring the use of powers. The time between rests become longer but so what? Nah.
