Ok, I know this feat is not a favorite out there. I am making a wizard that specializes in draining spells and illusions, and some of the spells are range: close.
Right now he has just gained wizard 5 and I will be taking shadow adept in the near future, shadowcrafter eventually, and MAYBE Arcane Devotee.
For my feat selection, I am considering enlarge spell and then at 6th going shadow weave magic but taking an ArcDev level for the free enlarge. However, I can't fully convince myself that enlarge spell is really worth it. (though I'm leaning that way) Ray of enfeeblement is one of my favorite spells, and I will also be employing spectral hand quite a bit for the touch spells.
The free enlarge granted by ArcDev is REALLY nice as a draw for taking one level since some of the 'close' spells will still allow me to stay out of melee.
I was thinking:
Wiz5 or 6
ArcDev1
ShadowAdept2 (like the low light vision)
ShadowcrafterX
Not sure how far this campaign will go, so I'm only planning that far right now. I can always go for more SA levels or even up to ArcDev 5 for the (errata'd) SR.
He's human, so no shadowcraft mage.
Wish I'd had that book sooner.
What do you guys think? Enlarge/ArcDev level or no?
I will also be adding some "fell" feats out of the LM eventually to make the drains even worse.
Ideas?
Thanks,
