Now, keep this in mind ... WotC didn't make the cut in two categories that they submitted for. They submitted two adventures and didn't make the top five or an honorable mention. And they submitted one product for best cartography and same deal there.

Russ and I agree that after he gets back and we let this all sink in, etc., that we'll want to have a big, in-depth group discussion (publishers and fans alike) as to what could be improved for next year, how certain things that don't maybe seem "fair" in the contest could be evened out, the possible reintroduction of the Best Editing category and how to make that feasible for the judges, etc.

I'll be posting more in a different thread but I just want to say I had the best frickin' time ever. The show went off basically without a hitch, I got to talk to WotC web people Julia Martin and Mark Jindra for a good long time, got to shake hands with Dave Arneson, got a little choked up when I was thanking my wife, and best of all I served as a human microphone stand. No, seriously best of all was meeting and hanging out with Russ who is just the nicest fellow you could imagine.

Blah, I'm having trouble writing and spelling as it's 2:45 am and I'm dead tired. I may have to pick this up in another thread tomorrow. I'll just conclude that yes, Nemmerle has some incriminating photographs and as a result the website will from now on be called OOO World.

He wasn't giving the crowd the finger. But it was meant for someone I think. But I don't play Star Wars, so I have no clue what was going through his mind.

I still don't believe Oriential Adventures was that good, nor was it deserving of best setting. Same is true of Lord of the Iron fortess, Hollowfaust's Cover art was MUCH better. I am glad that CC2 won for best monster suppliment (not suprised there), but I thought they'd take home more than just ONE freaking award.

I can live with Monte and Chris getting them. They ARE good products. But not WotC.

Same is true of Lord of the Iron fortess, Hollowfaust's Cover art was MUCH better.

Now, now, Nightfall... That's a very subjective position. While I thought the Hollowfaust cover was nice, I liked Lord of the Iron Fortress much more.... Doesn't mean one's better than the other, though.

(They also convey different things, so how they can compete evenly is beyond me....)

I think OA was good, but not deserving of best setting because it wasn't one. You would've thought that the fact that the Rokugan setting was released as a companion book would've made this clear, but oh well.
