D&D (2024) Enspelled items and marketing

Very fun, although I feel a lot of these don't actually qualify to be enspelled items. The enspell options are for crafting armor, weapons, and staffs, but you've got gloves, boots, diadems, t-shirts, flasks, rings, etc — things that would fall under the "wondrous item" category.

Not that I'd have a real problem with them myself; there's a lot of amusing ideas here. Just add an "Enspell Object" option that works the same as the others.

the Rake of Leveling can repair a couple of bad spots in a road each day, doing the equivalent of several days labor.

Nourish your extended family and descendant forever 200 gp. Any merchant crossing the 200 gp threshold will invest in one, preventing everyone he loves forever from dying of famine. I call this an agriculture-collapsing device.

Cantrip like Mending already destroyed the tailors guild (one shirt last forever), and now with this almost any job can be replaced by a cheap magic item so you don't even need to pay a apprentice wizard. The D&D economy is bizarre beyond comprehension.

Point. I forgot that aspect of "enspelled" items. Guess most of these should be staves or cudgels.

Yeah, much like Dancing Lights. ~30gp/scroll in Xanathar

25 gp/ea

And again, ~30gp/scroll in Xanathar

By definition items that can cast 1st-level spells are around 25-50 gp each if you read scrolls. But a 200 investment to get an average of 3.5 use of a 25gp scroll is very good and turn them from occasionally used to no-question-asked solution.

A boot of shield isn't much better, in that it casts shield, than a case full of shield scrolls, except you rarely expect an adversary to cast shield every round in the fight, except if extremly wealthy. Expanding 200gp per fight isn't the same as expending 200gp for the lifetime.

Looting a dragon hoard after killing it is great, and it will make you a famous hero, and also will allow you to build 1,500 left boots of shield. Enough so once your hero retires, he can equip his army with them, giving them a huge enough advantage to take over the world (unless another ruler decides to emulate him so his army can match, until some point everyone in the world is equipped with left boot of shield, recovered from battlefields (I always milk the cow with my great-great-grandad's boot, he was in the army you know, so if my cow decides to kick me, a strange blue light appear and I'm safe instead of having a broken back!). Even if such a feat only happens every generation, a thousand years old empire (a short lifespan in many fantasy universe) will have 75,000 left boots of shield lying around.
