The funny thing was the handbag that T'pol had at the end. She COULDN'T have been the female vulcan herself - too large of an age gap - but was she the daughter? granddaughter? What?

i think it was great granddaughter (great-great, maybe?)

it's not too uncommon for an actress to play her character's mother, grandmother, or whathaveyou

Henry: Next time, watch more carefully. They specifically state in the episode that it was a great-grandmother.

How long should it take for the materials in a handbag like that to decay to the point that it would fall apart at the touch? Maybe she should have left some of those Vulcan preserving agents behind with the Velcro? :)

I'm pretty sure well cared for textiles can last for a pretty long time. There are still well-preserved uniforms from the American Civil War, and those are creeping up on being a century and a half old without any application of particularly high technology. One would presume that a culture that has technoogy to outright replicate foods should have something that'll make a carefully tended handbag last pretty much indefinately.

the bayoo tapetisty
the should of turin
elizabeth 1 gowns
all over 300 years old without much safe guarding.
Now add a desert climate and someone smart enough to preserve instead of throwing it into the attic.
I think it would be better if they left the last scene out so you would not know whether it was a story or not.
Of course i still mad that I miss the first episode.

I missed it too, but I was able to catch it later. Was well worth the wait. :)

edit: I really liked the second ep. Even the end. Explains alot about T'pol's character. She has the potential to be the deepest of the entire cast. :)

edit 2: For civility. :)

Tsk tsk. Why can't people remember to keep illegal pirating activities out of discussions? Mentioning that you've done such a thing on these boards can leave Morrus in a dicey legal/ethical position. So don't do it.

Downloading a television show? I was not aware that it was illegal. I thought is was the same as taping it from TV.

edit: grammar

I really enjoyed this episode. I'm glad they're creating their own continuity. This was a very nice, solid, understated episode, and really made one care about the characters, even if they were never seen before and will never be seen again.

That last bit is something I was thinking about, and dreading. Let's hope they don't use this to set up any big plot points later. Like, say, the kid T'Pol's great-grandma helped turning out to be a guy whose work directly led to warp drive, or the Vulcan left behind turning out to be, I don't know, the guy who has been having the Suliban do stuff to poison Vulcan/Human relations. However, I just know this episode will come up later in a major way, instead of remaining a nice, lovely little interlude :(
