Enterprise: Does anybody else feel...?

I nearly lost it when I first heard the Enterprise theme.

In a good way! All sniffly and proud of the human race and stuff. :) I get weirdly emotional about space exploration, so that danged thing pushed all my buttons. My BF thought I was crazy! :D

I want to power up my mobile suit and go smash Rick Bergman's office at Paramount every time I hear that damned thing. I'm so hoping that the TNG-led cabal successfully steals the franchise away from him.

Fortunately, I'm at work each week when Enterprise comes on, so I tape it to watch later. And can thus fast forward through that wretched theme song.

speaking of using rock songs for the Star Trek series, how about these:

Star Trek (original): Born to be Wild

The Next Generation: Changes

Deep Space Nine: We Gotta Get Out of This Place

Voyager: Break on Through to the Other Side

Enterprise: Time for Me to Fly

Star Trek (original): Born to be Wild [or magic carpet ride]

The Next Generation: Changes

Deep Space Nine: We Gotta Get Out of This Place [nice!]

Voyager: Break on Through to the Other Side [how about we just remove voyager? ... ]

Enterprise: Time for Me to Fly [REO speedwagon? not bad ... the more I think about the more I think it works]

Hehehe. Actually, I was thinking of William Shatner doing a rendition of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamond" ... but replace "Lucy" with "Connie." :p

I love the opening theme song. I love the show too, as it may actually save the Star Trek franchise from the crapitude that was Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

Of course I wouldn't expect most long time Star Trek fans to like it since it is different.

Which is about the biggest sin any Star Trek show can commit.

All IMO and YMMV.

While I agree that Voyager was pretty crappy, I really liked Deep Space Nine. Especially in the later years, with the Dominion War going on, they had some really good episodes.

And I like Enterprise. Just not the theme song.
