enworld assignment- the initiate!

Attempt failing...

Cat remains unresponsive...

getting better at die rolling, bats at dice rather than rolls them (an interesting technique, must remember to test it)

Attention wanders, seems aloof and uninterested in my dungeon descriptions at times, and at others has an unsettling focus and stares intensely at me...almost thru me.

refuses to eat Doritos or drink Mt Dew...instead spends time licking himself (I found this form of nourishment most unsatisfying)

most importantly, keeps trying to bite me when role playing a handshakes.

perhaps the cat only needs more time...or he could prefer Scrabble

So did you find any? Newbie month is upon us...

I think I know someone who would dig D&D but it will be a while before I can try to get her playing (other games going on) :)

Still hopeful I can get my wife up and running with our Star Wars campaign I'm about to run. She's actually played a session or two of D&D, but was turned off by the rules complexity -- even though I don't really run the game that way. :(

my newbies played and are dying to go again.

3 days after their first game my wife explained to one of them that i had been hit by a virus. his response? "whoever sits around writing viruses must be chaotic evil"

I WON!!

bring on more frontline tales! :)

Hmm. I wonder if I could get my neighbors to play in a game?? My wife has swore off any of my GM'ing ever again, after two bad games I ran for her. So, she would likely be the most difficult to convince.

we are trying to add a player or two to our group. i'll ask Olgar to post if we succeed in finding someone.;)

And we did find two new players, one experienced gamer from EN World (howandwhy99) and one certified newbie, my nephew.

Kind of happenstance that it happened in Newbie Month. He is set to join at our next session, in 2 weeks, and has really only played computer RPGs. I am already getting swamped with questions. He plans to play a druid, probably an elf.

Look in diaglo's storyhour for details once we get him going.

Hmm... Well, I've been an avid reader of fantasy for at least 6 years, and one of my best friends plays DnD. He talked about it constantly and I'd played 2 sessions with him. My 2 younger brothers are also interested in fantasy, so we got the books, rounded up a couple of friends who lived nearby, and started playing. I'm DMing, because I was the only one who could pick up the rules quick enough. This was about 4 months back-would that count? Including me, that's 5 newbies. I know that 4 months is not a very long time, but so far no sign of slacking off, so I am optimistic!
