enworld assignment- the initiate!

Our group has two potential new players...

One is the wife of a current player. She's never played before. She played for the first time a week ago in a 1st level one shot adventure. She was very good. I think she's still considering, but I hope she becomes a regular.

The second is a co-worker of mine. He played only once a very, very long time ago, but had a pretty bad DM and so hasn't played since. He'll join in for a trial in about a week and a half.

I'll let you know how it goes.

UPDATE:

1. She really enjoyed playing, and she really good at it, but she doesn't have the time to game, because of job-related excuses. She still shows up on occasion for 'movie nights' and other such fun stuff we invite our gaming group to. Partial Success.

2. He took to it like a fish to water. The other day during a slow midnight shift at work, he pulled out his character sheet and loaded up the on-line SRD. He wanted to tweak up his sorcerer's spell list, now that he kind of knows what some of the spells do. Complete Success!

I got one! Ok two, and maybe a half.

I moved to a new town two weeks ago. My son met the kids in the neighborhood, and invited them over to play. Last week we made characters, and last night we played for the first time.

They had a blast, and can't wait for next week.

Spoilers!

Minor spoilers for a Dungeon adventure!

I'm using a fairly simple adventure from Dungeon called Swarm (goblins and spiders in the mountains, lots of killing things). So far the RPing is pretty good. All the PCs are fairly dumb, (INTs of 8,8, and 10) and the guys are hamming it up pretty good. When the giant praying mantis tried to fly off with the unconcious monk they were pretty worried! They've decided they REALLY need someone with a bow. :)

I also let the sister (7yrs old? 8?) of one of the players roll for some NPCs and some monsters. She nearly killed the dwarf, but she killed the mantis rolling for the NPC dwarf. So we may another one on the way!

end minor spoilers.

Does this work like a pyramid scheme :D?

In a way. Find whoever "turned" you and give them $5. When you turn someone, they need to pay you $5.

To keep things working smoothly, if you are unable to contact the person who turned you, or you want to buy in at a higher level ($25, $50, and bargain $100 licenses are available), please send your dues to me.

pbartender- even a converted tolerator counts, and congrats on the new addict :)

storminator- i debated the hack n' slash vs heavy rp for first timers, i think you got it right. :)

good job to both of you, you both get gold stars :p
