I game with two groups: in one I'm purely a player, with the other I'm one of three GMs, so on the whole I probably play more than DM, but I actually enjoy being a GM more than a player. Go figure!

I've been a player on a Tuesday game for a few months now, but I'm also a GM on a Saturday game where we went from Slavelords to our old Forgotten Realms campagin.

I DM and like it because of the out of game planning time that adds to it.

I play and enjoy not having to put in all of the extra time.

I think the answer for each is SO dependant on the other side of the screen. If you enjoy DMing it is bound to have somehting to do wiht the players.

If you enjoy playing, it has soemhting to do with the DM.

A lot, I would say.

:D

I mostly dm, and I prefer dming to playing overall. I like it best when I have a lil chance to do both, though- f'rinstance, I currently dm two groups and play in two groups (mostly the same people, but different characters in both cases).

I voted for my current situation - which is about to change. I currently play more than GM.

Having GMed weekly in two different game systems, D&D and Shadowrun/Earthdawn, for over 20 years, I ran into GM burnout a few years ago. Now, I'm GMing an Arcana Unearthed (not quite Evolved) campaign and am getting ready to break out Earthdawn again.

I have to say there needed to be one more option. I like a balance between GM time and playing time. :D

Are you a DM or a Player (for the most part) please pick one or the other. I know some do both but which is it "most of the time" and which do you prefer?
I picked that I'm a DM most of the time, but that's a bit shaky. That's only because the campaign I DM meets a bit more frequently than the campaign in which I play. I don't have any preference of DMing vs. playing; ideally I'm DMing a game and playing in another one (or two.) Everyone in my group is at least a part time DM who does it because they enjoy DMing, not just because they have to.

But maybe we're a bit unusual in that regard...
