[Epic] Auto-X Feats, Sorcerers, and Metamagic

Take an Epic Sorcerer, give him Auto-Silent Spell x2. Said sorc goes to cast a maximize fireball. Does the spell require a verbal component?

Same Sorc, replace Auto-Silent x2 with Auto-Quicken x2. Again, maximized fireball. Is the spell quickened?

The feats say any spell below level X is affected by an auto-X feat, but I don't see any explicit reference to metamagic on the fly (spontaneous). Thoughts?

This is covered in the Epic Level FAQ. You use the higher, metamagicked level to determine whether the spell is automatically modified.

For instance, if you have Automatic Quicken Spell, it will work on a fireball (3rd level) but not on a Silent fireball (4th level).

Ah, I see.
The answer is yes. You can auto-metamagic spells that already have metamagic applied, as long as your autofeat can reach high enough.

If you have Automatic Silent Spell x2, it does apply to a Maximized Fireball. The same is true for Automagic Quicken Spell x2. (Yes, this is a way to get around the increased casting time for on-the-fly metamagic.)
