Epic BAB & interative attacks of +ECL characters

Fortunatley for HEL pit fiend, this regards only their eligability for feats, not even how many feats they get, let alone BAB. That is based on levels, not ECL, as AEGGMAN stated earlier.

Um, yes, that's what I said. Did you read the entirety of my post?

Now, Andy Collins (one of the authors) has mentioned on his messageboards that bonus feats - say from getting Ftr8 - can't be chosen from the epic list, even if your ECL is 20+ - but the every-three-levels feat can be.

First, please re-read my post, I actually stated +ECL's do not count. Then drnuncheon reminded me that for the eligibility of feats +ECL's does count.

Second, It is spelled AGGEMAM.

Thirdly, why are you trying to correct me if you do not even have the book? *shakes head*

Your argument is flawed. In most cases, a character whose first 20 levels are in Fighter would make a weak mage; the primary attributes are wrong for that class. Given that statement, a Ftr20/Wiz20 is going to be a better fighter and worse mage than the Wiz20/Ftr20 who is a better mage and worse fighter. BAB doesn't have really anything to do with it.

I think that since mages are arguable the most powerful class (a Wiz20 can defeat a Ftr20 in most cases), WotC granted the extra attack to fighters by not modifying attacks at epic levels.

Why are you attacking a single case? This problem occurs with all sorts of class progressions. If you make that point, then consider a paladin 20 / sorcerer 20 versus a sorcerer 20 / paladin 20.

Or consider the monk class (which gets ubertwinky with the improved spell resistance feat being selectable multiple times) - why shouldn't a now knowledgable player take two levels of fighter, and then 18 levels of monk, for +14/+11/+11 to saves, and a BAB of +16/11/6/1?

The monk on its own raises issues - the examples given aren't the only problem with this. They are stated to make the point, does every painstaking detail have to be labored upon here?

Actually, I suspect that the number of people with the endurance to play a two-year campaign to get to 20th level, followed by another two-year campaign to get to 40th level, will be much less than the people who just say screw it, let's make up some 40th level guys and kick epic butt.

Actually I've been making the 20/20 examples because each one is the limiter for epic feats, and they are kinda typical of many of the gods in the deities and demigods book.

Right now the campaign I've been playing two years, my character is just about to reach 16th level (all wizard :-). Also happens to be the highest-level character I've brought up from first level.
