Epic D&D 3.5: The Eye of Profane Truth [full]

Nearing completion.

I'm getting all sorts of crunchy here at the moment. Skill points spent, feats are chosen (although I wish I had a couple more of them -- time to relook at ring of three wishes and see if you can use wish to grant you feats, but I can get the feats as we progress)... a little over 3 million gold spent out of the 5 million (something like 1.9 million gold left, and that's after buying three epic items), stats are set, class breakdown is set. I'm giving my brain a brief break, then going back to finish up and get the write-up ready.

Just in case, Rhket, I'm also gonna attempt to ready the drow bladesinger idea I had in mind -- blame my DM and her husband for helping me set up a half-drow/half-wild elf bladesinger for 2nd edition -- it's frightening what they can do.

The joys of interpretation. Gives me a newfound respect for translators and the like.

Rhket: I swear, I'm zeroing in on a concept to submit crunch on. I am curious, however: I'm looking at the possibility of a bladesinger concept. It says elf or half-elf as a racial requirement. My question -- could I be a drow elf and still be a bladesinger? I just want to be certain before I start going full-bore into this potential concept.

Drows are a subrace of elves. So yes.

Bloodweaver1:

Out of convenience, I am using d20srd as the standard core source. In regards to XPH content, anything appearing here:

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm

is not allowed, even if they do not have the psionic tag. So no Deadly Precision. I'd go for Staggering Strike from Complete Warrior, myself.

Seeking appears on the general magic weapons page here

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm#seeking

so that's fine.

Player's Guide to Faerun is not on the list of allowed books.

You can't enchant a robe to give armor-like properties. Even if you could, I have no idea how you got +13 armor out of it.

Your shield should give +4 since it's got +2 enhancement. What's 'Pr. Transmutation'?

People, use spreadsheets to build your char. Seriously, it makes things so much easier.

Also: I'm not tracking spells known for non-spontaneous casters. Just buy a Blessed Book and I'll assume you know all the spells you need.

Damn! No rerolling 1’s on Sneak attacks!! That’s my number one feat for rogues. Oh well Staggering strike it is. Thanks for the clarification.

The magical enhancement for the XPH is teleporting not seeking. Teleporting is like the returning weapon enhancement but it teleports to your hand rather than fly back to it. Teleporting allows one to move after the throw without having to worry about the weapon not coming back or giving away your position.

Yes, PGtF is Players Guide to Fearun. I presumed it would be OK as it says 3.0 material maybe used as long as the errata is up to date, which it is for the item I desire. Is that line ment for something else? FYI : Bracers of Blinding Strike gives, +6 AC, Improved Initiative, and an extra attack each round as per the speed weapon enhancement.

Pretty much I wanted to create a Robe +5 so that it can stack with my bracers of armor +8. I figured that would be legal as a chain shirt +5 still gives an armor bonus of 4 with a +5 enhancement, no?

Correct it should be a +4 and that stands for Proof against Transmutation. Helpful against turning into dust, stone, snails and anything else that I don’t like.

"What do you see when you sleep, child? What troubles your dreams?"

“Ha, You presume much. One has to dream first in order to have trouble within them. And what are dreams? Are they simply your unconscious running ramped within you mind, or they are ‘visions’ of one’s fate?” He pauses briefly then continues, “Whatever they maybe, I have little time for them. My fate like yours has been sealed well before I walked in your tent. I know my role, my piece in the game.”

"Who pulls your strings? Who's the puppetmaster makin' ye dance all pretty? Or," she cackles, "do you think yourself a freeman?"

“Does it matter? Like it or not we are all pieces of the game. Some are fortunate to know their place on the board while others revel in their ignorance of all things. Those who know about the game think they move because they choose too. But we know that’s not true.” He smiles and gives a small sigh before continuing, “The purpose and complete understanding of the game is for future historians and scholars to debate. The only thing one needs to know is what piece of the game are you? For if you know what piece you are, then you ultimately know your role. Are you a pawn to be sacrificed for a greater force or a king that controls the fate of all things? Or are you the queen that controls the battle field that is layout before her,” He hesitates for a few seconds and then finishes, “Or perhaps one is like me, the black knight that when used correctly, ends the game.”

"And, you didn't forget a gift for poor old Etna, did you? Yes, I can see it, it's in that backpack, yes... what did you bring poor old Etna? Show me."

“Ha, you fool those with your needs of material possessions, but your tricks will not work on me old crow. For I have already given you what you desire. This ‘interview’ is more savoring to you than anything you can taste and more tangible than anything you can hold. Perhaps I have even given you the key into knowing who is truly playing the game.”

"My turn..."

“When the time is right and the final move is played, all that will matter will be the pieces in play and the place to play them. The pieces against me will reveal themselves when they are ready. My first question is when and where?”

“My second question is simple. One black knight is dangerous when left on the board, but even I know it will take more than just one piece to setup and execute the final blow. Do I know the other pieces? Are there other black knights like myself?”

“I wish to be immortal. I wish to live on well beyond my time through the stories and memories of those left behind. I wish to be a legend, and more importantly, I wish to remembered by the masses. My final question and the most important question to me is: Will that happen when the game is finally over?”

I meant that you need errata for the books I listed that are 3.0, such as BoVD and MMII. PGtF is not allowed.

It doesn't work like that. Enhancement bonus to armor enhances the armor, not you. So a +5 chain shirt would give a total of +9 armor, but would not stack with bracers of armor, since that gives +8 armor. Also, while clothing counts as AC0 armor under some circumstances (mainly for spells that enhance armor), you cannot enchant clothing as armor (A&EG probably begs to differ, but that's why it's not on my list.)

Correct it should be a +4 and that stands for Proof against Transmutation. Helpful against turning into dust, stone, snails and anything else that I don’t like.

source?

Does that mean I can refund the money Lorgrane spent on acquiring spells?

I must have missed something myself -- are we able to make our own weapons/armor (not that it matters for one of the concepts I've currently got put together, but the drow bladesinger I'm about to start working on may well need that)? I thought we were just limited to what was pre-made and listed in the books? That interpretation thing is coming back to bite me. *grins*

Oh, and for the drow bladesinger: are there any items that would negate the drow's Light Blindness? It appears I'll need an item, since Daylight Adaptation isn't on the d20 SRD, but I'm not familiar with one offhand.
