Epic Feat: Skydiver

Opinions? Too powerful? Unlikely to be used enough to make it worth it?

Skydiver [General]
Prerequisites: Jump: 24 ranks

Benefit: Given a round to prepare himself, the character is immune to damage from falling from a great height. This means that a deliberate attempt to jump down from a height will do no damage to the character.

Should the character be pushed, or otherwise suprised into falling from a height, he may make a DC 30 tumble check, to right himself and prepare for landing.

Normal: Only a DC 100 tumble check allows a character to ignore falling damage.

I'd put it up to 24 ranks, but otherwise I see no problem with it.

Plenty of other ways to avoid falling damage at that level, and Captain America thinks parachutes are for girls.

Yeah, I need to work up a new batch of Epic feats before I run my epic campaign again.

My favorite- inspired by a foolish, foolish maneuver a non-epic pc monk tried (when the player was as drunk as, er, well, drunk enough to try this) is going to be Grapple the Swarm. :D :p  :uhoh:

On the plus side, if he manages to grapple the swarm, I'd figure he can crush the whole thing in one action next round. Somehow managing to grab or otherwise grapple every animal in the swarm, and then just crushing them together, and all.

I did this because I noticed that while there was an epic use of tumble to be immune to falling damage, there was nothing for jumping, and that only a very few classes could make the DC 100 check, and they would be the ones least likely to need it.

That and I love the idea of a fighter just jumping off a cliff, into a horde of baddies, with sword drawn and such. It's impressive.

It's not more an Exxxtreeeeme feat than running up a wall, or balancing on twig. Or a pond. Or a cloud.

Unless you were just joshing around.

Pff. None of those go well with a guitar solo and a can of Mountain Dew.
