Epic Feats

Actually, IIRC, the bonus feats you get from each class from that point on (fighter bonus feats or the wizard bonus feats every 5th level) can be Epic feats from the associated Epic feats bonus list for the class.

No, as I recall. Didn't Andy Collins address this subject?

Wasn't there another thread on the bonus feat issue?

My understanding is that you can only get class bonus feats when your class level is above 20. So if a Sor30 decides to take a level of fighter, his fighter bonus feat cannot be epic. The same would go for a ECL20 monster race taking his first class level.

he addressed the subject and gave an interpretation of the rule. The only problem was, he gave an interpretation that contradicted the text without specifically stating that the text was wrong. The text of the ELH indeed says that you can take epic level feats as bonus feats when adding a second class once you've exceeded 20th level. Andy Collins said that the rule should be interpreted that you have to take your bonus feats for your second class from the non-epic bonus feat list. However, this isn't patantly NOT what the rules styate, and, although I and others on the Wizard's message board asked for someone with authority to specifically state that the rule is written wrong, nobody did.

As far as it goes, for the majority of people in the world, who didn't read that thread on the WOTC website, the book reads that you can take epic feats for your bonus feats in your second class provided that your total character level is 21 or more.

Yeah, Andy addressed the issue by saying "I don't think so". However, there are explicit rules on page 8 of the ELH. The book spells it out quite clearly there.

And Andy is right... or else every character would start taking fighter levels after 20th... for the multitude of feats!!

No they wont. For the same reasons they dont a non-epic levels.

And those 'Bonus Feats' still come from the FTR restricted feat list
