Epic Monks

This is my fourth thread today...I don't know if that's really cool, really annoying, or just an indicator of how little of a life i really have.

Anyone think monk's unarmed damage should increase after 20th level? They don't really get anything else...

If i'm wrong, please tell me nicely, i cry when people yell :-(

I also wish they got more than 1 bonus feat per 5 levels, so that they could benefit from some of those bigger feats

How much higher than 1d20 or 4d6 should unarmed damage go? There is no weapon that does that much damage. 5 iterative attacks at twice the damage of a greatsword plus you can flurry or even lightning fist for 7 attacks.

That's a good rebuttal, i suppose you're right, i just wish that monks didn't get screwed on overcoming damage reduction (Slow Ki Strike Progression)

there are ways to get around that. there's a magic item in MaoF called Bracers of Striking that can be magiced like any weapon can (double weapon actually, so it's really pricey, but it would work!)

Don't forget amulet of mighty fists from Sword & Fist. Gives an enhancement bonus of up to +5 for all unarmed attacks.

There are the epic Keen Strike (all unarmed attacks are slahsing weapons and threaten on 19-20) and Vorpal Strike (ouch) Epic feats also.

And, for the low, low price of 20 levels in Monk and Divine Rank 1, you can take Divine Monk (salient divine ability). Your unarmed attacks are +5 slashing vorpal, lawful, keen weapons that do 2d12 base damage. (And you get to deflect arrows and ranged touch spells back at your attacker an unlimited number times per round.)
