Epic version of Empower spell feat?

OK, I had a number of epic level characters described to me (major epic, Wiz 21, Sorc 21, Ultimate Magus 10), who all could affect a certain type of spell (those corresponding to one particluar element (different for each one)) with the Intensify, Enhance and Widen metamagic feats without affecting the spell level at all. I know Enhance Spell and Widen Spell, but what's the effect of Intensify Spell? Double damage or some such?

Doesn't seem all that useful unless you take the feats for higher lvl spell slots.

Idunno, intensified ray of enfeeblement? -22 Str is still pretty impressive. (-11 hit, -5 - -17 damage per hit depending on fighting style/stats). Also consider the dex version from spell compendium, thats -11 reflex save / AC. And if you face an enemy spell caster with a casting stat of less than 31, an intensified touch of idiocy can wipe out at least some of their casting ability.

Intensify Metamagic on page 61 of the epic handbook

2xdamage per die and max damage. Pre req is max and empower spell feats and spellcraft 30 ranks. So you couldn't take this until 27th level.
