[sblock=Madness]
Kildrak goes up to level 1 - short term madness (during the trip) Effect: vivid hallucinations, disadvantage on all skill checks (Luckily Kildrak doesn't need to make skill checks to gather food.)
[roll0], [roll1] x10 min.

Grudach madness level goes up to level 2 - long term madness Effect: character takes damage must make a DC 15 WIS save or is effected like the confusion spell - Luckily that didn't apply for today, so no noticable effect.
[roll2], [roll3] hours

Still need @TallIan to make a WIS save[/sblock]

During the travel the horrid sounds echoing off the walls reminds Kildrak of the day his people were slaughtered by the drow. The noise turns into the screams of the women, children, and warriors of his lost clan. As he works on gathering food he swears he sees dead dwarves scattered everywhere he turns. Unnerved he quietly joins the group when they set down to camp. The appearance of the drow enrages the dwarf and he searches widely for a way to the tunnel it escaped into.

During the day Grudach traveled with the quiet quaggoth, who seemed more and more moody as the day drew on. During the day the noises and odd sounds seem to give the poor man a slight headache and he finds himself needing to stop and close his eyes (and ears), to clear the pain from his head.

By the time the group finds a cavern to rest, the headache and horrid sounds are both gone, but the oddness of the day still lingers.

OOC: The Horrid Sounds and WIS save were a random encounter. Not deadly in itself but the bump in madness level will play out as we transverse the Evil Underdark.

OOC: Yep, Finn madness level 1:
[roll0], [roll1] x10 minutes

During the days travel something peculiar happened to the poor halfling. He forgot everything that had happened to him after entering the Underdark months before with his master Krelius. Finn thought he had become separated from the group and the wizard, and frantically tried to find him. Calling out "Krelius! Master! Where are you?"

Stool did not know what to do and ran to get the others, but by the time they found the warlock the temporary amnesia had past, and Finn felt alright. Unnerved a bit, but not hurt.

Kildrak seemed unsettled by his hallucinations, but would not speak about it. Trying to shake off the traumatic visions he gathered what food and drink he could as almost a reflex.

The group shares a cold cheerless meal and bed down for the night.

In the morning they sit around the remainder of their rations and decide what to do about the drow.

OOC:
So to start the day you have
4lbs food - half rations for 8 people (there are 10 of you)
3lbs water - half rations for 6
- so whose not having breakfast? If you don't forage for food today?

Legend
"Let's get moving. We can look for mushrooms or something along the way. I'm sure we'll find some when we get far enough away from where the drow harvest 'em." suggested Old Grudach. "We can also keep an eye out for a good ambush site in case we wanna jump our followers. I'd caution against that though, the drow have that sleepy poison on their crossbows and we could be back in chains before we know it."

Day 3:

The group moves on glum, but resolved to not be put into chains once more. Grudach and Derendil lead the way. The human bounty hunter using every trick of the trade to track down the best path. (1d20+3=23 Survival)

They group makes good time only having to backtrack twice, and one of those ventures led to the group finding a small mushroom grove with plenty of edible fungus. There is more than they can carry and they eat and drink their fill for the day, glad to have full bellies once more.

As they settle down for the day they take stock in their new supplies and discovery they could spend a day not foraging ahead and travel at a faster pace. Thus putting distance between them and the drow. [i.e. pursuit level would drop by 1]

OOC:
Eldeth foraging
9lbs of food & water

Stool foraging
3lbs of food & water

6lbs of food & water - Kildrak

12lbs of food leftover
12 gallons of water left over

find hidden cache of 6 waterskins (because of nat 20 roll)

Day 4:

With a surplus of food and the drow to avoid the group heads out in the morning at a quicker pace. They are all back to half rations but with the extra food and water they know they can make it a few days before they need to go back to the slow pace of foraging as they move. At the quickened pace their is little time for conversation even with the surface dwellers moving as one group and the others moving a few hundred feet behind (in case they encounter a dead end).

"Wait!" Grudach says putting out a hand. Finnan's clenches his fist covering the rock he has his light spell on. The darkness is absolute for him and Atallia.
