Event Registration

What's the problem? I logged in at 5 p.m. Central; had a couple of false starts/software error messages, but then logged into my account, registered for all 8 events I wanted, at the times I wanted them, then checked out.

I rock!

I had some slow going between screens, esp. going from the event list to the checkout, and from checkout to final confirmation. But in all in only took me an hour, and I was able to do other work (my real job) while I was waiting.

See the trick is to wait for all of the early birds to get frustrated and quit, then that frees up the system.

Got everything I wanted, though I'm not sure they're anything other people desperately want. Good luck to all of you! Hope you all get everything you want to sign up for!

PS... who's gonna make cool nametags this year? I want a cool ENWorld nametag so people can recognize me and go, "Hey! It's that guy!"

If not, I'm just gonna make my friends say that a couple times a day.

Now here is something funny. I left from work, not being able to get any events. I came home, only to discover that the cable (and of course internet) in my area was out. Just my luck...

Okay. Now I'm pissed. Several of the events that I was wanting are now booked.

Well, it only took me 6 and a half hours, but I got registered. I'm printing off all my documentation now, just in case. In addition to the problems at the GenCon website, we lost our internet service at work during the afternoon. I ended up calling a friend who gets off work earlier than me, guided him through the login process, got into the two most important events, and gave him my credit card info over the phone to make the payment. The rest I got signed up for through successive tries at home. For all the hassle, there was only one event I really wanted into that was full by the time I was able to register for it.

The_Universe and I registered for SEMs... but, we've never been to GenCon so, we were being careful...
