on average, that's just over 15 archetypes per class. So, soon, we will have (at least) 455 archetypes spread over 30 classes in A5e
It's why a5e is my goto. The 3rd party community is SO goodAmazing! The Level Up community is a real contender in 3pp. This makes me happy.
Can confirm! I’ve loved being the data guy for the last few years, but I have other priorities I need to focus on now, and Grant is a worthy successor!Hey folks, an update and introduction: This is Grant; I am taking over this spreadsheet from xiphumor by request and will be working on updating it to current over the next couple of days. I am looking forward to contributing to this and hopefully you all continue to get some good use out of this resource!
I would say no. The EN team does its own thing and so do the 3rd party folks. For a quick example, there are two distinct takes on the necromancer (one from Ace's and the EN one); both of them do different things and there is usually plenty of room for different takes even in an archetype that feels shares a theme. This list is amazing, Thankyou!
Question, when a 3rd party product is published is the design space then considered filled filled by the A5e team?
The same would apply to 5e subclasses that were never ported over.
As a specific example I note A5e has no tertiary caster subclass for the fighter while 5e has eldritch knight and purple Martin has the arcane show off.
The GPG explicitly tries not to cover ground covered by O5e. The 3PP community is much more open to conversions of this sort (e.g. Heroes Old and New). EN Publishing wants to be able to distinguish itself from O5e, while the 3PP community wants to fill in the gaps, so it’s a complementary situation! This list is amazing, Thankyou!
