Everyone have the new Dragon?

Personally, I take it as a bit of slight. I used to get it before the stores, and now I don't. I'm a loyal customer, and have maintained a subscription for years, but it feels like I'm being taken for granted. My sale was a reliable chunk of cash upfront that's earning them interest, discount or not. Every other magazine I subscribe to arrives either prior to general distribution, or roughly parallel. In the last six months, Paizo's distribution has gone rapidly downhill.

I'm not 'cancel my subscription' upset, but I am miffed. It just is troublesome that as Paizo improves the content and fixes their customer service, their fullfillment seems to get worse.
I don't mean to be rude, but it put a sinister smile on my face. Score one for people who buy their Dragon in FLGS at full price.

My wife says mine came in today's mail. I usually get it the day after I see folks talking about it here, so I'd expected it a few days ago.

Since it seemed to be discussed last week, I e-mail customer service. They got back to me right away. It was mailed late last week.

All,

A while ago I posted an Open Letter to Dragon and Dungeon readers about our redesign. During the ensuing discussion, the issue of subscriptions and their slow arrival times came up. I made a promise to look into the situation and fix it.

During our investigation, we identified several areas that needed attention if we were to insure that subscriptions arrived in a timely manner. I wanted to let you know that as a result of working on this, Paizo has undertaken the following:

1. An internal reorganization of the personnel, structure, and processes that relate to production, printing, and fulfillment of our magazines. As of right now, Jeff Alvarez, our Director of Operations (and the person who increased the efficiency and effectiveness of our Customer Service Dept) will now be managing the printing and production process. There were some process issues that ocurred previously. With this reorganization, those issues have been definitively dealt with.

2. The use of an optimized shipping process that will, our vendor states, speed up the delivery of subscription copies so that they can reach subscriber doors faster.

3. We are also working to determine the best way to communicate effective On-Sale dates for each of our titles, minimizing the experience of seeing the latest issues on bookstore shelves before you mailbox.

I just wanted to give you all some insight into what we have done and what we are continuing to do in order to fix this situation.

Thanks for the update, Keith. It is pretty frustrating to see a Dragon-less mailbox day after day. Good to know that there's something being done about it.

Can you tell us when to expect the changes to the Paizo website we've heard rumors about?

I was in the FLGS over the weekend and saw the new Dragon magazine.. It kind of bugged me because my sub hasn't arrived yet.

When did yours arrive in the mail, and is there anyone else who hasn't received there's yet?

Moticon

Nope. Mine NEVER comes before it hits the stands. If it weren't for the steep discount and my chronic laziness, I wouldn't even subscribe.

I bought Dragon 322 last week from my local bookstore. I don't bother subbing to it.

Sounds like there's no incentive to do so.

You do get it at like half off or something. I'd say that's incentive.

Seriously. I have a Dragon-less mailbox more than 29 out of every 30 days. Irks me to no end...
