Everyone here must see The Gamers!

Just saw this film at the San Diego comic con and my god was it one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time.
Absolutely nailed gaming culture to a tee, and the dialogue is well written. At one point I thought I was going to hyperventilate with laughter and my girlfriend nearly fell out of her chair.

What was your favorite part of the movie?

mine was:

the buildup to the 19 str barbarian failing the bend bars/lift gate roll, only to be beat out by the 6 str elven ranger. When the ranger lifted the gate over his head and gave out his barbariac yaulp sounding like the Tusken Raider in Star Wars I nearly died.

Hilarous stuff all around.

I thought it was very funny. But then, I am a gamer geek.

My girlfriend thought it was kinda lame. She is not a gamer geek.

So, I think gamers will like it, and non-gamers will not. It is one big inside joke for D&D gamers.

My group watched it together one evening. My wife and our DM's girlfriend (neither of whom are gamers) came along and loved it. In fact, in the subsequent two weeks, they both took part in games and enjoyed it (though neither has become a convert).

Bought the VHS after seeing a comment about it on Monte's site. My wife (who is a relatively new gamer) cracked up during it.

My favorite part is the rogue in the bar (with the pants) and the ballista.

I would love to see it, but I have no Credit Card and do not plan to get one. :(
And I live in Germany, and so there is little chance I will ever get to see the VHS or DVD in a shop...

I bought it, and enjoyed it.
I wouldn't pump up the hype too much though. Pretty low production values and sound.

The Barbarian hitting the table and the "aren't you deathly afraid of water?" bits got me though. :)
