I agree with some of the list, but it also includes a few decent movies. The funny thing is that the 1989 version of the Punisher featuring Dolph Lundgren was even worse.

And I can't fathom how anyone could think of X-Men III being worse than any one of those twenty. Not even close. Is there some general loathing out there for the film that I'm not aware of, or does this seem to be more personal?
Count me as one who considers X3 as a prime canidate for the worst comic book movies list. It lacked the character of the first two X-Men movies, and I really didn't care for what it did to the Phoenix storyline.

Well, call me a heretic, but I liked several of these. Specifically:

Ghost Rider - Lots of fun, and with no ambitions to be anything more than it was.

The Shadow - For the simple fact that they went with an unlikable hero, and (I think) pulled off the mood and feel quite well.

Tank Girl - Come on. Tank Girl. How can you not love this? :)

I've never seen Brenda Starr or Steel, so I can't judge those. But I actually like Swamp Thing, Punisher, Fantastic Four, and Barbarella. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen wasn't bad even if it had nothing to do with the comic. And I was surprised that I liked Daredevil as much as I did when I saw it in the theatre (but I've had no desire to watch it since).

Superman IV, Judge Dredd, Barb Wire, and Sheena are guilty pleasures.

I'm a little disappointed not to see The Return of Swamp Thing, Bulletproof Monk, 300 (yeah, I said it!), Blade: Trinity, and X-Men 3. Add those terrible Crow sequels, too.

That said, I'm glad to see The Shadow, The Phantom, Elektra, Tank Girl, and Ghost Rider on the list. The last two I think are worse than Batman & Robin or Catwoman.

This list is missing quite a few. No TMNT sequels, Return of Swamp Thing, Frost, or Renegade (which was based on Moebius' western comic "Blueberry"). I haven't seen it, but Renegade is supposed to be incredibly bad (it has nothing to do with the comic and focuses on Blueberry taking peyote and seeing psychedelic CGI).

And Green Hornet is on the list? Do they mean the TV series or did I miss this film?

The thing is, I can remember a HORRRRRRRIBLE version of Captain America with terrible video quality, acting and Z-grade porno-movie music from when I was a teenager. It was worse than ANYTHING on that list.

The Shadow was originally a radio character (in fact, he was originally just the announcer for the show's stories and became a character later), but he also had at least two or three comic book runs. None lasted very long, or were very good. (Then there was the long running pulp magazine, of course.)

Appearently whoever made the list never actually read Barbarella. The movie was a pretty good adaptation, all things considered. And Jane Fonda came across very well as the character as writen.

Judge Dredd would have been a good movie if it weren't for the comic relief character. He pretty much ruined it for me.

Haven't seen some of them, and most of those I don't want to see. For the rest, I always expect comic book adaptations to suck, so I'm rarely disappointed. And occasionally pleasently surprised.

Of the list Hand of Evil posted, these are the ones I think aren't bad (not counting ones I haven't seen).

There are a few on that list that I don't really belong there - much as I hate Sly Stallone I think he made a great Judge Dread, he captured the comic book character perfectly.

Judge Dredd wouldn't have been so bad if they'd nixed the casting of Rob Schneider, and had just dumped the comedic elements altogether. That was the worst part of the whole thing.
