Exalted Champloo - Episode 1 - "Intolerance"

Swallow stands back, letting Romen take the lead. She stands close to the wall, her eyes angled slightly toward the floor to avoid attention, but in reality she is soaking in the social situation.

"I was right, there were ambushers back here waiting for us." Temari says, sounding smug at being proven correct. It wasn't a large force, but still expecting those who hunt Exalted to not have an ambushing force had been...foolish, especially when it could have easily been 15 soldiers, giving those on the otherside the time to come through the building and pin her and Alamar between the two groups. "Told you Disciple was attracted to me." the huntress tells the older Exalt before leading him to the well Disciple had marked as stealthily as she could.

"The others do know about this well so we can give them the chance to join us if we wait just inside the tunnel. Or you and I could use the tunnel to escape and then I could sneak back in and retreive the others and then sneak back out over the walls if you don't think they'll come to join us here." the girl says, offering the choice to Alamar.

He smirked at her comment, "Call it what you will, Temari. Attraction. Interest. Curiousity. Or just call it Fate."

He chuckled softly, but is obviously being serious, "I'd prefer we not have to make any more trips than needed. It increases the chances, no matter how skilled you are, of getting spotted, or being surrounded by too many troops to shoot your way through."

"It wouldn't be a we sneaking in, it would be a me, and the me in this case does not get caught. Disciple and I held a conversation not 10 feet above where those silly little Dragon-Bloods were discussing how to find us. They wouldn't be able to find me if their lives depended on it." Temari says, slipping down into the tunnel and hopefully out of view of the street and anyone who might pass along it.

"Another option would be just to wait an hour or two and then lead the others here to the tunnel and we can leave together." In any case, the girl lowered herself to a seated postion inside the tunnel waiting for her eyes to adjust to the darkness. "I suppouse I could also procure some torches while I'm looking for the others if you'd like."

He nodded, not wanting to start up the argument about the fact that skill was good, but one must always accept, that someone is always greater.

"Torches would be useful. I've got a few in my rucksack, but a few more won't hurt."

He got comfy, settling into a lotus position, and looking like he was meditating more than anything. However, there was no doubt he was still completely aware of his surroundings. As he sat there, he began to plumb his mind carefully for knowledge of the dead, and what cautions must be taken in dealing with them. He tried specifically to recall any taboos about being in their presence.

OOC: Temari will head back out in 2 hours or so, gving the others time to talk their way out of the situation and get to the well. If they haven't arrived before then she'll return sneak back out. In the mean time she is going to curl up and take a nap.

Front Room

The rest of the Circle sees the green jade armored brute and Talon-Captain Allain, Romen’s Gateway partner earlier in the day. The brute bristles as he scans the room focusing on the new comers.

Captain Allain smiles, “Romen, my friend, a pleasure to meet you, I wish I was not on business or I could spare a moment for banter. You should be warned anathema have been spotted in the city, one of the Wretched and the Unclean… dark days.”

Snow politely greets the captain with a bow, barely deep enough to be respectful, "We haven't seen any demons pass through here. We were just enjoying some tea to cool and hiding from the glaring sun. I swear this heat will kill me. Care to join us?"

The Captain smiles taken aback by Dancing Snow’s manner, “Talon-Captain Allain dais and I apologize madam I… I mean we did not mean to cause a ruckus we are only trying to protect the peace and sanctity of this place.”

He bows, “As much as I would like to take you up on that offer, I must refrain duty and all, but perhaps when times are not as stressed, we can partake in a game of gateway and a cup of tea,” he smiles.

The dragon-blood brute grumbles, “Perhaps we should continue our search Talon-Captain, and not allow a pretty face to delay our sacred mission.”

The Captain nods, “Of course, of course, madam… please excuse me.”

"I'm Dancing Snow. Nice to meet you Lord Dais," Snow smiles at catching him by surprise, "And a fine job you are doing my lord. I would be honored to join you for tea some day. Are you sure we cannot pursuade you and your brave men to join us?" she asks with a glance at the burly sergeant, but otherwise ignores him,Spoilsport...

She looks the captain over with a flirtatious look, not altogether disliking what she's seeing, "Wearing all that armor in this sweltering heat would surely make even one of the Realm's finest like yourself thirsty..."

ooc:
The amazing manipulation/charisma + presence of 3 (4 if appearance is relevant) to convince him to stay

The Talon Captain smiles, “Well…”

The brute grumbles, looking at Dancing Snow, “This is not the time, Talon-Captain.”

“Of course,” Dais smiles, “I will have to make up this drink another time, duty calls. A young beauty such as yourself should leave this place; this is not an establishment for someone as delicate as refined as yourself.”

He bows generously and then brushes past to continue his search.
