Exalted Champloo - Episode 1 - "Intolerance"

OOC: Temari is not the youngest, Romen younger then she by a few years. She also said that while he probably had plans for all he had the most interest in Temari, not that he had no interest, only that it was probably lesser. Posted for clarity

The Circle and the stoic native mercenary men all hear sounds from up front. A commotion of sorts, “…Jurisdiction of the Realm… please… and be calm.” Is all that most of the circle can make out from the sounds of the people up front.

Temari

[sblock]Temari hears the following, “Stand down citizens, by jurisdiction of the Realm, in the name of the Scarlet Throne we are charged with search and apprehension of suspected anathema. Please stand down and comply, and most of all be calm,” a strong male voice speaks, the same voice as the large bald dragon blood in the green jade armor.[/sblock]

"That settles it I suppouse, time is up. That burly Dragon Blood is outside, the one with that Jade Armor. I guess we don't have any choice left but to fight this patrol and hope we can get away before they are able to send in a larger hunt." Temari says to the others, sounding a mixture of both eager to face the dragon blood and resigned to facing larger numbers in a place not of her choosing.

Temari calmy takes back her bow from Romen and pulls an arrow from her quiver. The huntress lets the arrow rest along her right thigh, with her bow obscurred by the table itself, though still ready to drawback and release if things got out of hand. The girl was entirely still and calm as she waited, accepting of whatever would happen, hunting was always a dangeruous pursuit, but she was confident in herself and in the rest of the circle.

"We just decided that violence would be an absolute last resort in this case. Let me have a shot." Romen replies quietly.

Hopping gracefully to his feet, he adds rather loudly: "Be ready, this may be some attempt to sabotage our expedition."

Infusing his bearing with Essence, Romen strides to the front of the room.

A twilight with a soulsteel spear. A possible deathknight chasing our little huntress. Who happened to be travelling with said twilight... And now the Wyld Hunt is looking for them as well, Snow groaned, too many coincedences and as Relin always said, there is not such thing as a coincedence, "I'm certain our Disciple knows exactly what he is doing," hearing the soldiers in the common room, "Right now we have little choice but to trust him, I prefer an army of the dead over the Wyld Hunt right about now," she points at the door behind them, "The dead are less likely to prevent us from returning here. Temari, Alamar, you get out the back, we'll slow them down ... peacefully," she adds with a smile.

Swallow sighs and follows Snow forward, whispering a near-silent hope that the Exalt's rash nature stays hidden until the need for violence is absolutely neccesary. She rests a hand gently on her shoulder and smiles at the girl's groan at the situation. "I trust you to protect me," she says in a light tone.

ooc: I'm at a complete loss on this Debate stuff, so anyone's helpd would be apprciated.

He frowned, not liking it, but realizing it was their only way to avoid serious problems, "Temari ... let's go. May Creation be with you. May the winds forever favor us. And may we meet under a more pleasant moon." He bows briefly toward the others.

Temari laughs quietly. "Yes 2 of us should go out the back because they are not competent enough to have sealed the other exits before coming in the front." the girl says sounding slightly amused. "If nothing else, they are competent, they have to be to hunt us. They almost certainly created a cordon, and are coming in the front to fluster us and drive us into their waiting ambush."

Sighing, the young Exalt rises, transferring the drawn arrow to her left hand, the same hand carrying her powerbow. "I bet I'll slay more of the ambushers then you will Alamar." the girl says sardonicly. She leads the way to the exit and opens it as stealthily as possible attempting to slip out without catching a realm arrow in the chest.

When the duo go out back, they find three corpses with black fletched arrows in them… they dissipate into mist and are gone. There is no trace to what killed them though. But a black rose is clutched in the hands of one of the victims.

Front Room

The rest of the Circle sees the green jade armored brute and Talon-Captain Allain, Romen’s Gateway partner earlier in the day. The brute bristles as he scans the room focusing on the new comers.

Captain Allain smiles, “Romen, my friend, a pleasure to meet you, I wish I was not on business or I could spare a moment for banter. You should be warned anathema have been spotted in the city, one of the Wretched and the Unclean… dark days.”

"I was right, there were ambushers back here waiting for us." Temari says, sounding smug at being proven correct. It wasn't a large force, but still expecting those who hunt Exalted to not have an ambushing force had been...foolish, especially when it could have easily been 15 soldiers, giving those on the otherside the time to come through the building and pin her and Alamar between the two groups. "Told you Disciple was attracted to me." the huntress tells the older Exalt before leading him to the well Disciple had marked as stealthily as she could.

"The others do know about this well so we can give them the chance to join us if we wait just inside the tunnel. Or you and I could use the tunnel to escape and then I could sneak back in and retreive the others and then sneak back out over the walls if you don't think they'll come to join us here." the girl says, offering the choice to Alamar.
