Unearthed Arcana has a spell point system that looks suspiciously like psionics (right down to extra cost for extra damage dice and the cost for spells)

You're right...kinda.. it was errata'd to state that Displays could be customized. However, as per the 1st printing of the PsiHB, the Displays were "set in stone" so to speak.

Lots of people say this, but it's incorrect. Go check out page 35, "Customizing Displays." Bruce put that in there when we complained about the lack of display flexibility.

I'm looking forward to the new book. I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds great.

Anyway, I think this is looking betetr and better, is it walking a step toward the If thoughts could kill and mindscapes?

Well Mindscapes was mainly a big change to psionic combat, which we know nothing about at this point, so it's hard to say. But yea, I see a great deal of influence from If Thoughts Could Kill.

As I said before, I'd be perfectly happy if psionic combat went the way of the dodo. But, if it stays, I hope the Mindscape is part of it.

Word from Bruce Cordell:

Here's the deal: All psions use Intelligence as their key ability score, no matter the primary discipline (other psionic classes have different manifesting key ability scores). There is a very large list of powers that all psions can learn regardless of their discipline. But, there is a small select list of powers available to a psion of each particular discipline (but, even then, if there is a power on the select list of another discipline that you HAVE to have, you could take a feat that grants you access to that power).

So I was wrong. Psions are based off of Int.

I believe it's in an email from Bruce that someone quoted on the WotC boards. It may be faked, but it's unlikely, as the hoax would be revealed pretty soon anyway.

Yea, it is said to have came from Bruce himself. I don't really see any reason to disbelieve it. The Dragon article is kinda hard to decipher, but it can easily be interpreted this way.

Oh, I was not fearing the possibility of fake, in fact I trust people until they prove me wrong...

I was just wondering where did this appeared that I should be and wasn't...

Anyway, now Psions seem to be interesting enough, and take a step that clerics should have been given... domain lists that are more comprehensive...

And that damn many ability scores to be a good one has been done away, it seems this is all gettign better!
