Exploring the Hase-Suna Complex (Manzanita judging) [Concluded]

( I could have sworn you said this was the main hallway, one way leading to the enterance of the entire complex? I guess I misread. Sure - I agree with Kol-mun. Highest search, others aid. )

Lokin looks around to see if Payne is around to help searching, hoping to avoid being chastised for doing it by himself. If she's not close, he will run his hand along the wall, looking for presure-plates or loose bricks that trigger a door.

[sblock=OOC] Sorry for the delay, had some 20 hours days going on here. Can't get to LEW from work any more sicne I now work in a :):):):):):) office with lots of security and NO windows! [/sblock]

Zurd will on his initiative cast DAZE on the Stirge in his leg hoping to stop it from draining him.

[sblock=Zurd]Your spell has no effect on the stirge.

The littlest orc, ahead of you, stops to try to pry a stirge off himself. He fails, and now is both close to you and being preyed on by a bloodsucker. The other two keep on running ahead.

You now take 3 points of Con damage as the stirge begins draining your blood. There is a 3' high orc child 10' ahead of you, and two older orc children disappearing through a no-longer-secret door.[/sblock]

[sblock=everyone else]I think I can only allow one person to aid in a Search at a time, since it would involve crowding around a 5' panel being searched. So let's say Payne, with Kyle's help, searches the stone wall at h. Payne is a practiced searcher; Kyle has a dwarf's experience with stonework. The rest of you look around elsewhere -- if you tell me where, I'll tell you whether you find anything this round. At any rate, Payne has no difficulty finding another subtly concealed handle, and recognizing a secret door. Does she open it? Or does someone else?[/sblock]

Zurd will attack the stirge in a fit of rage...he uses the greatsword in a downward sweeping motion as one would use a knife to carve the top layer off of a ham.

Attack: 13

DMG: 8

He will yell for help as well....

Hurry! There are some foul bloodsucking beasts!

The spot opposite where Payne is looking, is where you came in. Not surprisingly, you find the secret door by which you entered this corridor.

However, you can all now follow Payne into the room described in post #591. Read the spoiler there for a description. When you get there, only Zurd and the smallest orc child are visible. A wooden panel on the wall to your left is open -- apparently, yet another secret door.

Both Zurd and the orc-child are struggling with stirges that have bitten them. Zurd has just sliced through his; it is no longer alive, although its proboscis is embedded in his leg. The orc seems to be just trying to swat his, to no effect.

Initiatives:
Payne 19 -- she opens the door and enters the room
Kongu 18 -- she runs up behind Payne and enters the room too
Orcs 10 -- the small one can't seem to do anything about the critter sucking his blood
Stirges 9 -- the one that attacked the orc falls off, sated with its meal
Kol 8 -- ?
Kyle 7 -- ?
Zurd 5 -- ? (Last round he killed the stirge that bit him)
Lokin 3 -- ?

Lokin attempts to squeeze into the room and attack the stirge with his blade.

Just so I'm not misunderstanding: you're talking about the stirge attached to the orc, right? Because it's the only living stirge you can see, by the time you get into the room.
