Not the only Amazon screw-up in gaming.
There was the minitures combat game Steve Jackson Games was planning called "Hot Lead". It was planned back in 1993 or so, but it never came to fruitition--it was more or less "vaporware".
Only thing is, Amazon had entries for it for at least three years. In the past Amazon allowed comments on unreleased products, so people in the know got the joke and started posting comments like "best game ever" and little off-center recommendations. They wised up after a while. I wish they still allowed it for books so we could say just how valuable this is.
My own personal Amazon story doesn't involve a gaming product. I purchased a 5-disc DVD player during the 2000 Holiday season. They sent me two without billing or notifications. So I told them and had them supply return shipping for the other one. I didn't want some poor loading dock worker to get fired.
