Familiar Trade-in

[Damn Gravity]

The players in my groups do not like familiars. But they are a major part of the wizards and sorcerer classes. I was thinking of giving them a chooses of a bonus feat instead of a familiar. Does anyone else have the same issue and what have they done about it?

Any Meta magic feat is what we've used. If they latter want a familiar it costs a feat. I would say feats such as Mind over Body and Prodigal Caster would easily qualify for the list of swap-outs.

I think a feat for a Familiar is too much. A familiar is optional. You pay 100gp for the materials to make one. No familiar, you just saved 100gp. Good job.
