The previews look good to me. But even then I won't be seeing it in the theatre. I rarely see movies in the theatre anymore. Most I just wait for the DVD and rent it. Hopefully in another two years or so I can finally spring for that big screen TV to make watching at home even more enjoyable.

Having never followed the comics, the previews seem like a fun comedy/action comic book movie. And since I've got nothing better to do with my weekends, that means I'll catch a matinee.

Not seeing it in theaters. I'm a pretty tough sell on theaters these days -- new baby and all -- but more than that, the trailer just thudded with me. It was the faithful execution of what I'd been fearing when I heard about Jessica Alba -- it's self-aware-teen-Fantastic-Four, with "Hey, the teens will love this jive-talking approach to these classic superhero icons" dialogue that just grated on me in the worst possible way.

They have superheroes in the right age group and lifestyle category for a movie like this, but the Fantastic Four ain't them. And as I said in an earlier post: regardless of the fact that the Fantastic Four have been around for decades in comic book form, this movie has already been done recently, likely better than the official Fantastic Four movie will do it. It was called The Incredibles.

Betweem short cash and young baby, I'll probably wait for it to air on cable.

Plus I never really cared for the FF much, and Dr. Doom is one of the most munchkin villains in comics. So he's the ruler of his own nation, he's a technological genius, AND he's world's second most powerful sorceror???

Luthor should just buy off Latveria and put Doom out on the street... :)

Saw the trailer for this again (before Mr. & Mrs. Smith), and I think I'd like to change my vote. The more I see the trailer, the worse it looks. Hell, the Dukes of Hazzard looks better than this does.

At first I thought it was going to suck but the more trailers I see the more pumped I am to see it.
